I discovered this fan fic here on TV Tropes, and once I laid my eyes on it, I couldn't look away! Then, once I finally figured out how to make pages on here, I decided to make one myself, it is that good! The story is wonderfully written and well developed, the characters are nicely fleshed out, some twists are unexpected and downright awesome, and it ultimately stays true to the game canon. Granted, there is some Fridge Logic as to why Red doesn't carry around a pen and notebook so he can talk to people easier, it didn't kill my enjoyment of the story any. Red struggles with ignorance and hardship throughout his journey, where he meets people who either accept his disability or assume he's a bad person without bothering to listen to him. The author does a great job exploring all kinds of ways people deal with Red and how Red deals with them. I can relate to Red in some ways, even though I'm autistic, not mute. I wholly recommend this story to anyone who's a fan of the Gen 1 games, or the games in general! If you're looking for a good, sweet story that'll make you feel warm and fuzzy inside when good things happen or make you want to punch the characters who are mean to Red, then this is definitely a tale for you. The good thing is, the chapters are reasonably short, so don't worry about chapter length or feeling like you can't complete it.
