Sounds like a case of She Panned It, Now She Sucks. I'm just wondering which particular review upset you so much.
Are you one of those fanboys who think the only way to dislike a reviewer is because they bash a work you like? Sure smeels Yahtzee in here.
She responds to someone defending RWBY with "Why can't [I] have zero standards or taste?" It's not a she panned it now she sucks.
illegitematus non carborundum estIt sounded like it because you gave no specific examples, only general statements. That's what people usually do when they get upset and write a review as a kneejerk reaction rather than because they have a well thought out opinion to present.
That being said, I don't really care as I haven't watched her in years and don't feel any particular desire to do so.
Sorry guys, I was pressed for time when I wrote the review. It's not so much that she's reviewed any series I fanboy over (there aren't really any series that would fit that description); it's more about her tendency to act like a contrarian and then feign surprise and offense when someone disagrees with her. You guys were a little too hostile about my opinion, there. I'm not upset by her reviews or her presence on TGWTG. I rarely go on there anymore — the quality's really been dipping for some time, and I typically go to my favorite reviewers' particular websites (Phelous, the Cinema Snob) rather than go through TGWTG.
TL;DR: Not fanboying, just bothered by a reviewer who lacks professionalism.
The comma you put in the title shouldn't be there, grammatically speaking.
Souleye - PPPPPP - Potential for Anything 3DS FC: 2621-3105-8671While she has degraded from her earlier standards. I Feel your review needs to actually go indepth cause it comes off as a knee jerk reaction.
I mean you have all the ammo to show it, She's gone from being intelligent and analytical to yet another fouled mouth reviewer that does nothing but seethe at the thing their reviewing. She barely puts anything out anymore. Essentially she's in a massive state of decline.
Your review isn't a review... its a general statement that JO sucks.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I'm sure he'd love to go in depth, unfortunately, tv tropes has a word limit on it's reviews.
In my opinion, while I normally like JO and think she can be quite insightful, I also feel that she has a tendance to take Bias Steamroller WAY too far.
Also, it's interesting to note that of the two shows that she's hated enough to attack the fans for liking it (RWBY and MLP), she hasn't actually reviewed either, merely insulted the shows and their fans over social media.
I have the feeling she unintentionally tries too hard to be a hipster sometimes.
Are you the one who was editing not only her YMMV page, but also the one for RWBY every time she brought up the show? Because I figured it was just one person doing those things.
She's said REPEATEDLY that she's willing to accept opposition to her views, all she asks is that people be mature about it. Basically, if you go "FUCK YOU FOR NOT LIKING THE THING I DON'T LIKE I HOPE YOU DIE!", well, what reason does she have to take you seriously?
It's kind of ironic that she asks people to be mature about it when she, well, is not.
More that she responds to what she gets. You're an ass to her, she'll be an ass back.
And also, she generally doesn't insult people for liking things she doesn't like. She insults people for liking things she thinks are bad. Bit of a difference there.
It's a completely subjective criteria either way, so it's not as if that bit of a difference will dissuade anyone who dislikes her for it.
And also, she generally doesn't insult people for liking things she doesn't like. She insults people for liking things she thinks are bad. Bit of a difference there.
...No, there isn't. Either way, she insults people for holding opinions that are different from hers.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Fine, let me rephrase: She insults people for liking things that are objectively bad, like RWBY.
"Objectively bad" is an oxymoron. It's like saying that "August is a month" is a subjective statement. "Bad" is a statement of one's opinion, not an objective fact.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"So, there's some way to view something like 'The Room,' or 'Birdemic,' as good?
I'm not saying they can't be entertaining, but they're certainly bad.
It doesn't matter how many people share an opinion, or how strongly they do so. It's still an opinion. No amount of consensus can change that.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"^^Yes, if you're Tommy Wiseau/James Nguyen.
Let's put it this way: With RWBY, most of her criticism towards it has now been gearing towards discussing the faulty animation. At the very least, she calls out the Special Effects Failure, to the point that it's hard to make a case for the animation itself not being bad.
^^^Saying that the animation in RWBY is sloppy isn't an opinion. It's an understatement.
She insults people for liking things that are objectively bad, like RWBY.
Sorry, unless you correct that statement, like saying you meant the animation, you have zero credibility.
If it was only the animation that was bad, you might have had a point.
Yep, zero credibility.
Man, I'm getting some flashbacks to when Spoony whined about Final Fantasy 8. Good times!
So, are we in a universe where bad writing + bad acting + bad animation =/= bad show? Because I don't know that that's a good thing.
Gee, you must be proud of yourself for having an objectively correct opinion. Fuck all those fans, their opinions are worthless. OBJECTIVITY FTW 1111
Or are we just in a universe where you think you can just go, "I don't agree with this guy, so I'm just gonna go 'Zero credibility' like a random person on the internet saying that actually means something?"
The irony is palatable. No, seriously, I'm enjoying it like sweet nectar.
No, no, I get it, I'm just a random guy on the internet too.
On the other hand, you've yet to make anything even resembling an argument defending the pile of shit that is RWBY, so...
Realistically, neither of us have any credibility, so your comment really holds no standing.
...Is what I should've said in the first place.
No, you obviously don't get it. I think RWBY is shit too, but I'm not an arrogant little prick who insists that my opinion is correct "b-because it's baaaaad!" and that it's alright to ridicule the fans of it, since obviously they're subhuman plebs and it's okay to insult them for having such horrible opinions.
tl;dr ur sad
Actually, I'm feeling pretty good right now. Arguing with condescending idiots who act like they know better than everyone else because they think acting like all opinions are valid seems intelligent is fun.
Oh, I get it! You're satirizing yourself. If you'd told me earlier, I wouldn't have taken you seriously at all!
...Yeah, sure. If telling yourself that helps you feel better.
You don't need credibility in this case. Whether something is good is absolutely subjective, and regardless of your own opinion of a work you shouldn't insult other people for disagreeing. That's called ad hominem, and both of you are engaging in a lot of it right now.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.See, that's a much better argument, and I was honestly wondering how long it'd take someone to bring it up.
See, that's a much better argument, and I was honestly wondering how long it'd take someone to bring it up.
To be fair, they're a big mean poopy head!
To be even more fair, I was just kinda bored, and might've taken it just a little too far.
See, I said they were a poopy head!
Let's be honest, you were being a bit of a poopy head too.
Was not!
I'm pretty sure the Rules of Kindergarten state that anyone who calls someone a poopy head, is themself a poopy head as well.
I'm telling mother!
Not if I tell her first! :P
And that's why we all love it so.
We good, Kay?
On an actually relevant note, shouldn't a review of JO be more about the material she produces, and less about the person herself?
It's not the site, Wackd. It's mostly the Review section.
Did you REALLY have an argument about subjective opinions and objective opinions over RWBY? Some people like it. Some people don't. You don't have to be a fuckhead about something by saying it is bad, and everyone who defends it is bad/has bad taste. That is not your call to make.
Jesus fucking Christ. All this shit over a WEB SERIES. This isn't even a RWBY review! What the fuck is wrong with this fucking section of the site?!
//ragequits//
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down. No, it's really the whole site.
Delicious tears though.
That reminds me. Apparently you crossed the line in On-Topic Conversations and got banned? I'm not quite sure on the details.
So, uhh... what happened? This isn't an attempt to drag you through the mud, I'm just curious.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.I believe you almost as much as a middle-aged polish hooker on meth telling me she is still a virgin. Private messages are a thing, you know?
Dang. This is a lot of comments.
face it guys, she's the bitch in sheep clothing. she also rant about transgender characters like unique from glee, and the hobbits sequel too. so yeah, trolling is her job.
Hear she angered Whovians, Bronies, and Trekkies all in one week. All I want to know is what she said to anger the whovians, as I am one.
Anyway give actual examples to justify why you're saying that.
lol this iz dum
Spelling 'is' and 'dumb' wrong doesn't help your point Bob Benson

No, Thanks.
I'll keep this short: JesuOtaku is not funny, nor is she a worthwhile reviewer. She frequently, and un-apologetically, attacks the fans of shows she doesn't like; she's clearly not mature enough to handle being so popular. Speaking of popularity: JO frequently targets popular anime series for her criticism, and while she sometimes makes valid observations in her reviews, she also tends to be something of a contrarian. That makes sense, too — after all, controversy garners attention, and by putting on her "I'm a reviewer" hat and bashing the shit out of a show that is beloved by many (and critically acclaimed), she's ensuring a greater number of views and thus, a higher place on the TGWTG hierarchy. There's also her Mary Sue-ishness. Every time she appears in a cross-over with another reviewer, she's an infallible source of awesomeness. Woo, hooray. Her appearances are so stale and boring that I'm starting to ignore videos she appears in, even though they're with a reviewer I really like. Her time on TGWTG has gone to her head, judging by her refusal to own up to her questionable actions and her (readily apparent) belief that, because she is a reviewer/critic, her opinions cannot be challenged.
To reiterate: JesuOtaku is your typical self-important internet reviewer, unable to accept criticism or opposing viewpoints.
