A Mature, Emotional, Alternative To Omniverse (Kirbypower's Spoiler-Free Review of Vindictive Hand Of Vengeance)

Vindictive Hand Of Vengeance is a masterful piece of storytelling. It follows Gwen Tennyson after she is framed for murder and imprisoned in the Null Void for 16 years until she escapes and begins plotting her revenge against those who ruined her life.

Pros

• The focus on Gwen Tennyson as the main character is one of the high points of this fanfic, as we see her plot her revenge while staying in the shadows as the head of the Dollars organization.
• The characters are well fleshed out, particularly Gwen and Kevin.
• Seeing Gwen exact sweet vengeance on Charmcaster, Darkstar, and Morgg for what they did to her is just plain satisfying because of how she utterly destroys their lives.
• Although the circumstances leading to it are dark, the battle between Evan Lee Tennyson (Gwen's son) and Devlin Levin is awesome.
• The shout out to Teen Titans and Death Note when Diagon reveals some of his previous identities to Gwen.

Cons

• Vindictive Hand Of Vengeance is a Dark Fic, and while I did enjoy reading it, this fic got a BIT too squicky for my tastes.
• Rook's cameo. While I don't hate Rook, his cameo means that Ben 10: Omniverse is canon to this fic, which is a con because I HATE Ben 10: Omniverse.
• The ending is really depressing if you were hoping that Gwen would have a happy ending after getting her revenge.
• Ben really doesn't do much in this story. Although I don't like how Omniverse butchered his character and while I do acknowledge that Ben wouldn't have much focus since Gwen is the main character, I would have liked to see him do more.

Overall, Vindictive Hand Of Vengeance is, for the most part, what Ben 10: Omniverse should have been. While it gets a bit too dark at points, it is an overall enjoyable Fan Fic.
