Probably because, at the end of the day, the Player here is a character in his own right, separate from you the player behind the screen. By contrast, Scarlet Hollow's protagonist is much more of a player's self-insert not even having a set appearance beyond a couple dialogue lines, and consistently referred to as they/them on the game's tropes page.

I don't see how it's politically charged. The Princess' nature (the "are" in Men Act Women Are) is a huge focal point of the game. Both in that the general conceit of the visual novel is that her nature changes depending on the PC's approach to and perception of her, and things the narrator explicitly states about her. (How ending the world isn't a decision it's just what she is, etc.) It's even implied that she can't actually do anything or try to escape until you meet with her.

Both the PC and the Princess are hugely important to the plot. That's not in question and that particular debate is beside the point. This trope is not a judgement on either character's power or importance or significance in the story, it's a statement on how they function within it. And the PC's function is to act, choose, gather the vessels or choose not to, and the Princess' is to simply be and change based on the PC's choices.

That's not exactly the problem here. When an edit like this comes up and you want it reverted, the proper course of action is to talk it out with the other tropers, either in a discussion thread like this or in private messages, to avoid an edit war. I had my account locked for pulling something like this on the Tumblr Funny Moments page once, and you two were doing it repeatedly. I don't want anyone to have to call an admin in, lord knows I'm not going to, but this is the exact sort of behavior that gets your editing privileges revoked when a mod hears about it.

Whether or not the edit Troper Berry20 suggested was better or not, any disagreements on it should have gone to discussions first. If it was important enough to constantly change back, then it was important enough to have an actual discussion on. Edit wars help no one and make accessing the changelog more confusing and frustrating for everyone else.

TL;DR, please talk things out next time. I'm sure there's some way to phrase that particular entry that would satisfy everyone.

I messaged Berry 20 and he politely agreed to stop. But Eh What Can You Do you kept doing so when everyone asked you to stop and keep doing this repeatedly on other parts of the Slay the Princess page. There is a reason I went to message mods as this has gotten way way out of hand. Perhaps this will help you learn.
