If there's an equivalent for Mac and Linux, it might be useful to add.
accidental repeat post due to slow connection, I shouldn't just click over and over when it's unresponsive...
Edited by BURGINABCAlright, so can we add a reaction to a shock site (it doesn't have to be an actual one) as the picture? Here's one, complete with Dramatic Wind: http://www.usbmemorysticks.net/just-the-beginning
Hide / Show RepliesYeah. It doesn't even need to be a screenshot of a reaction, but something that illustrates perfectly the trope without actually using it.
No regret shall pass over the threshold! There is the reaction shot from Not Safe for Work, which I just replaced with Kanaya.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Yep, definately just got hit with fake antivirus malware. Thanks for
What's on the cover of Time Magazine? Is it the image, or a stealth reference to it? Because I'm scared to click that link until I'm sure it's not it.
Hide / Show RepliesIt's a hidden reference to goatse.
So, in the U.S., randomly stripping is a signal that you want to sing the national anthem? - That HumanNow...oh boy. I've gotta bleach my brain. All I did was read a couple of things.
I think that we should put a description of the images on Offended, Pain Series, Kittens and Tourist. Saying that they are Nightmare Fuel and Nausea Fuel, honestly, says nothing. So, please, the people who saw it, describe what is this.
Hide / Show RepliesOffended and Pain Series are just a bunch of other shock site images (many of which have already been mentioned) crammed together onto a single page or image. Kittens is pretty much the same, but with screaming in the background. I haven't seen Tourist, but I'm assuming it's similar. Most of the images used in those compilations have been talked about already, and listing every single one included would take up a lot of space.
Does the content of the sites need to be spoilered? I mean, it's creepy, but it's not that bad to read, someone looking at examples of "shock sites" shouldn't be too shocked at something like this, and isn't using spoiler font in that way frowned upon anyway?
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Hmm, does Eversion really count as a "shock site"? I mean, it that's considered "shock" material, than isn't every web original that uses Subverted Innocence tropes?
Hide / Show RepliesI removed it, since shoehorning Eversion into tropes like this got old a while ago. And Conkers Bad Fur Day, which doesn't belong here either. The other weird example I removed I'll save here, since it looks dubious but could be legitimate:
- "Dubbing Psycho Thriller" by Dub Syndicate and Lee Scratch Perry. A song with elements of a screamer... but the screams are embedded in the song and are used as rhythmic elements.
"while some extend the prank by locking your browser if you try to close the website, forcing you to close through Task Manager...and some of them don't even let you do that."
Is this even still relevant? Didn't that sort of trap only work with older versions of Internet Explorer? I'm pretty sure most browsers these days, especially ones not bound to Windows, have safeguards against that, that is, I don't think it works any more. In any case, the reference to "Task Manager" is very windows-centric, ignoring Mac and Linux.
