- Mako from Legend Of Korra accuses Korra at least twice of passive aggressive behavior. In episode five, he accuses her of using his brother to get back at him for not returning her romantic feelings, and in seven he accuses her of being petty and jealous of his girlfriend when she ([spoiler: Rightfully]) accuses said girlfriend's father of working with the bad guys. Passive aggressiveness is not only untrue of Korra, but it directly contradicts the rest of her personality.
Removed because it's not really clear what the poster says Mako is overlooking. He's not overlooking anything here - he's just flat out wrong both times. And both times he as pushed along by his denial of his own feelings towards Korra. And that last part is more in tune with Korra and Mako's Belligerent Sexual Tension than this trope.
My name is Freezer and my anti-drug is porn.No mention in the description of the tropes dystopian reach?
Youtube Video Essays: hereOne must question if kyon is actually Selectively Oblivious to haruhi's feelings, or if, due to her being a hopeless, selfish bitch with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, he simply realizes she doesn't *deserve* to have her feelings acknowledged. stuff like the whole "hurr mikuru exists only to be my toy, I don't have to give her any respect as a human being at all" Moral Event Horizon make this sort of thing clear... which makes it all the more disgusting that itsuki won't allow for haruhi being corrected when she's demonstrating how much of a Complete Monster she is.
Removed these two examples:
Pemba can be oblivious, but it's not out of ego or temper. In the movie, he only gets mad when the hyenas call him a pig. It only happened once and he was still able to attack them and defend Timon and Zazu effectively.
DW does let his ego effect his work, but I think it's a stretch to say that he has to be helped or saved the majority of the time and he doesn't even notice. There's a reason he's the trope namer for Let's Get Dangerous!, after all.
