I know what you mean. I have a feeling that quite a few of the examples shown are really Seinfeld Is Unfunny.

- Find a single line or plot element in the movie The Golden Compass that did not tie directly into some sort of cliche. The ragtag group of unlikely allies, the Evil Empire, the talking bear who becomes loyal to the death after the protagonist restores his honor... there's even a frelling Lucy, I Am Your Mother scene.
Having read the book series, a lot of how these things were presented were the result of Adaptation Decay, or the editor seemed to have twisted some of the facts in order to make it sound like a Cliché Storm. For starters, I do not find the Gyptians to be a Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits, The Empire is "just" a Corrupt Church (albeit a very, very influential one), the talking bear happens to be an ARMOURED FUCKING POLAR BEAR and the honor restoring question happened to be tricking the ill)egimate Bear King (which in the universe of His Dark Materials is impossible) into a duel to the death with Iorek (the aformentioned armoured polar bear. The Luke, I Am Your Father Scene also occured much earlier in the book, though I could see how the movie's excecution was rather cliche.
I am sorry if this sounds rather rude, but I'm rather tired at the moment.

Maybe its just me, but a lot of these entries don't seem all that Clichéd (at least, not nearly clichéd enough to qualify as what I call a "storm"), are a Deconstructor/Reconstructor Fleet, or would be better indexed under Troperiffic
This is a signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Hide / Show Replies
