Can this trope overlap with Giant Woman if the subject in question is a giant Cat Girl?

There is a tale that I read in an annual (which is packed....somewhere) similar to the beast of Bodmin Moor except the cat in question was black and at least two stories tall.Footprints of appropriate size were found. Provided more info is found what category would this be classified as?

Could we change the name of this trope to something more familiar to english speakers i.e. something without the word "neko"?

I'm fairly certain that this article was at least originally made because people kept linking "Meganekko" (2 k's) as "Meganeko" (1 k).

Not actually serious.

Normally I'd agree with you TMR. Japanese Anime names get used too often on this english language board. It makes articles inaccessible to anyone who isn't a diehard anime fan. But in this case, I'm gonna assume this is a strictly Japanese concept because they like giant things and cute things often in combination and I can't think of nearly enough instances of this in western media to justify the articles existence.

In fact, I was going to ask is this really happens often enough to justify giving it its own article versus just sticking the examples here in the "Attack of the Fifty Foot Whatever" article. But if Japan really has a strong affinity for giant cats, we can keep the article and they can name it.

Sidenote: This would be my worst nightmare given form. I hate cats.

I agree completely. All of these unnecessary Japanese titles are giving TV Tropes a very bad reputation as Western Otakus. Japanese titles are fine on tropes that are mainly about Anime, but one look at the examples proves that this isn't one of them.

Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Really Big Cats.

Staying exactly what it sounds like is pretty bad considering most user don't speak Japanese.

Do the beast tribe Laguz count as this? If nothing else, Gentle Giant Mordecai counts, but Im asking if they're all exampls.

No. This is not about fictional feline races. You want Cat Folk for that. This is about cats that are dramatically bigger than the norm for their Real Life species. Ie: Giant house cats, giant tiger, giant lion...

Not if the fatness is within the realistically possible norms of its species.

Wasn't there once a hoax picture of a so-called "mutant" cat called Snowball, allegedly born in the grounds of a decommissioned nuclear power plant or something like that? Needless to say, it was a clever bit of Photoshopping, and the observant could notice that the lighting on the cat didn't quite match that on the man "holding" him.

If there's still any trace of this on the web, it should be worth including on the page.
