Dude, the "skit reference" that I ruined has 5 google results, one of which is this page. I'm sure that the editing tip about resisting to shoehorn memes in applies in this sort of case. Especially in this sort of case.

This isn't shoehorning, since the reference is directly related, and it's wittier. There was no good reason to take it out for something which is more or less the same but not as funny. It's not exactly obscure, either, the skit was pretty famous for a while after the eight-bit theater version was made, so i think a good portion of visitors would recognize it.

So basically: Yes, 5 google results, and yes, it sounds like a very heavy-handed way of putting it to anyone who hasn't heard of the skit, but hey- it used to be really popular in some forum.
Yeah, I don't care to concede that anyone who's from the same particular niche of fandom as you is going to really holler at this, but we can do better.

My computer died and didn't have regular access to tv tropes for a while. I've reconsidered my position, and decided you were right. Although I would like a pic from one of the actual examples, i won't mess with the one you substituted.
Minovsky Physics has its roots in theoretical mathematics. Isn't that the furthest one can get from "magic by another name" without discarding fantastic elements all together? I don't think it should be listed as related.
