I have an earth-shattering proposal to make. I suggest that the "Kudzu Plot" trope is renamed "Lost Plot". It's more obvious AND hilariously includes the #1 such offender in the history of television. Who's with me!?

Not me, for sure. I don't know Lost at all and this trope has already some internet usage, as the number of inbounds (offsite links to this page) here attest to.

Could someone explain the trope image? It's potholed to visual pun but I find no connection from loose plot ends to leafy branches.

I think it's a picture of kudzu. The best I can figure is that the pun is "loose ends". That is, the plant physically has loose ends, and it's also a term for abandoned plot threads.

It is indeed a picture of the South's arch-nemesis, the dreaded kudzu. I'm not certain that actually qualifies as a pun, though, considering that the comparison is why the page is named Kudzu Plot.

The same guy as all those other Andrusis. Except that one.

Removed the below entry because it doesn't really fit (its a bunch of stupid stuff happening) and because it reads like it was written by an angry fanboy trying to wedge his tirade into any bad trope article he can fit it into.

  • One More Day / Brand New Day, due to Joe Quesada's obsession to ramrod the erasing of the Spider-Man Marriage down fans throats PLUS other "changes" such as negating Harry Osborn's death and deciding to reverse the decision to unmask Spider-Man to the entire world during Civil War and not care about explaining these things. Unfortunately, fans revolted and some answers were given though the answers only raised even more questions (like how did Peter Parker erase EVERYONE knowing about him being Spider-Man?) and even more continuity chaos (such as Harry's resurrection being caused by his father, the villainous Norman Osborn having Mysterio fake his death, even though Norman's entire reason for being for just about EVERYTHING was based around Harry's death causing him to come out of retirement and return to the land of the living after the rest of the world thought he was dead).

Now that we have Alien Kudzu I think its high time we adressed this. Kudzu plot is a bad name. Kudzu isn't a day to day problem outside the South, and it will be too easy to confuse this with Alien Kudzu. My replacement name would be... Fraying Plot Threads capturing the idea that the narrative is fraying over the strain of too many sub-plots.

Just having the same word in two titles isn't enough to qualify it as confusing and in need of renaming. One-Winged Angel and Winged Humanoid, for example.

Might be worth mentioning in the one or both of the descriptions not to have it confused with the other, but i don't really know how big Alien Kudzu is.
