The "I am The Danger" scene from Breaking Bad should be added to the video examples.

I would add it myself, but I'm pretty terrible at tagging everything in the post, but before you fight Mustache Girl in a Hat in Time, she claims "I've restored justice. I AM the justice."

Does it have to be in the first person? I'm thinking of Babylon 5 here.

Psi Cop: You are not helping this situation.
Ivanova: You are this situation, lady!

Should we difference from people that scream "I AM THE LAW/whatever" in order to say that they control the LAW/whatever and what they wants becomes the law/whatewer from those that say "I am the LAW/whatever" in order to explain that they are serwants of the LAW/whatever and what they personally thinks have no bearing.

Javert never said "I am the Law" in the novel Les Miserables. The line came from the play, which was released well after Judge Dredd debuted. Thus, the originator of the line is, in fact, Dredd.

Re: Cutlist

Care to provide a reason why you are cutlisting this Hylarn? ... Doesn't say much.

I made the page with the words "new page" in order to have a page to anchor the transferred discussion to. (Mods now have a widget that can move the discussion pages without having to do cut and paste on the source code now. But the destination page needs to be a bluelink or the "new" discussion page is eaten by bunnies (or something).) Hylarn cutlisted it in the half-hour between my doing that and the content from Iam The Trope being moved over.

Ah, sorry about that. But that sort of thing is usually a bad sign. Something along the lines of 'in the process of moving' would have looked a lot better.

Archived discussion from the previous name, I Am the Trope:

From YKTTW Working Title: I Am The X

Nornagest: We've been discussing this title on the forums, and a consensus seems to have been reached to rename it to I Am The X, its original YKTTW working title. Use of "trope" as a metasyntactic variable in titles is considered harmful.

If this consensus is not broken before 5 June 2009, the contents of this page will be moved to I Am The X.

Central Avenue: I'm breaking the consensus.

Stormtroper: I'm curious, why is using "trope" considered harmful?

Nornagest: The simplest reason is that it doesn't make sense when used offsite, although there are others — there's a long thread in the forums on this question. I'd prefer to answer questions on the forums, though; I only check my watchlist every day or so.

{Note, the threads referred to are no longer available}

Removed "

Numbuh 1: Quick! Tell Numbuh 4 to turn this truck around! Numbuh 4: I am Numbuh 4."

because it does not fit the trope. It's not about asking about someone and having them be right there, it's about someone claiming to be the sole representative of a collective.

Lale: Batman's line originated in the animated series, unless someone can find a comic book quote that pre-dates it.

For the record, some debate has arisen over the name, although there still seems to be a consensus to rename this page.

Stormtroper: Ahh, thank you, that makes things much clearer.
