For the record, the eventual decision was to redirect. TRS discussion that led to this.

- Blown to pieces in a Monty Pythons Flying Circus sketch, featuring the Sensible Party (Arthur J. Smith, Alan Jones) and the Silly Party (Jethro Q. Walrustitty, Mr. Elsie Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz), plus a Swingometer that keeps returning to the middle because the arrow has a screw loose.
- In 1981, John Desmond Lewis of Hayes, Middlesex stood for election to Parliament after changing his name to "Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bim-bus-stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel", one of the candidates from the above sketch. He placed fifth with 223 votes.
- Another spoof is in the Blackadder The Third episode "Dish and Dishonesty", featuring a by-election in a rotten borough and a spoof of modern election night, complete with the late Vincent Hanna As Himself and a candidate from the self-explanatory "Standing at the Back Dressed Stupidly and Looking Stupid Party", a dead-on parody of novelty candidates in general and the Monster Raving Loony Party in particular.
Most of these are examples of what happens on the election night, while this sort of sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm not sure whether this goes or not.
