The fact that there is a word for throwing something out of a window is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

This page could really use a Playing With page.

Man throws women's stuff out the window when they're getting divorced.

Woman throws man's stuff out the window and they're not getting divorced.

Woman throws his stuff out, and he stands outside throwing it back in.

Woman just straight up throws man out the window.

Man gets fed up and throws woman out the window.

Am I the only one who interpreted the Double Standard in completely the opposite way? From what I've seen, when this trope is used, the woman is almost always portrayed as being justified in the destruction and the man is portrayed as in the wrong (which is why a key part of it is the man begging for forgiveness, rather than launching counter-accusations). The man is rarely portrayed as calm, logical, smart, or rational. And the very fact that the woman can destroy her ex's property without fear of retaliation implies that the woman has control over the relationship, and that said relationship relies solely on his pleasing her and making her happy.

Well neither of them are "calm, logical, smart, or rational", but the man is definitely in the wrong. Gets worse if the guy is the sole breadwinner, when Fridge Logic makes you wonder why he's being kicked out of the house he's paying for...

The write-up seems to have a somewhat snarky, scolding, editorializing tone. I thought Tropes Are Tools.
