There are too many examples which are the exact same thing in Credits Gag and here. Any ideas?
Hide / Show RepliesI say cut from Credits Gag— as it states in that trope, that is about messing with the credits, such as adding fake names or breaking them apart— essentially, Painting the Fourth Wall of credits. In this trope, the credits are genuine, but are presented in an unusual way.
For example, in Airplane, after "Best Boy Grip" in the credits, it says "Worst Boy Grip"— that's a credits gag. In Wall E, they created an entire epilogue for the film, drawn in different art styles; that's Creative Closing Credits. The credits are real, but the concept surrounding the credits is more elaborate than your typical credits fare.
Credits Gag existed before this trope did, and it's possible a lot of people just stuck any weird/funny credits there, regardless of whether or not they really fit the trope. So I would cut repeat examples from there, with a note saying "Closer to Creative Closing Credits" or something.
Edited by Ronka87 Thanks for the all fish!In Addition to the Creative Closing Credits YKTTW, many examples and some ideas were poached from a similar YKTTW, Credits Bonus.
Thanks for the all fish!
Do we have a corresponding trope for creative opening credits? One Hundred And One Dalmatians, The Pebble And The Penguin, etc. Very common back when all credits were at the beginning of the film, but still occasionally pops up.
