I've also got reservations about the trope being misused this way. If both participants are drunk and have not given anyone else alcohol, then doesn't it fall under the aforementioned trope?

This trope seems not to apply to all cases where characters have sex while drunk. It's common to go to a bar with the intent of getting drunk and laid, and if you don't give anyone else any alcohol—well, I don't think that sort of situation is what this trope is about. Haven't we got What Did I Do Last Night? for that?
