Creator-Preferred Adaptation is a related trope but had a number of examples that were just the creator publicly APPROVING the adaptation rather than preferring it. People are looking for a place to note the former; based on this trope title it seems like the obvious choice; and there doesn't seem to be any reason this has to be limited to fan works.
Is the Team America example a good example? Yes Anderson said it was truer in spirit to Thunderbirds than the live action movie, but he didn't like Team America.
