I'm confused... This article is suppose to be about avoiding an Ass Pull, but instead it seems to be a guide on how to write a Drama-Preserving Handicap.

I would really like to see this article undergo a revamp. It seems like a better structure would really help it out. Sometimes I can't even tell where a specific addition ought to go, even when I have a good idea for one.

This is a very useful article, so someone please figure out a better shape for that usefulness to be in. Thanks.

Much better, thank you so much.

I just put a link to this up on the So You Want To namespace main page. It seems like a good thing to know whenever you plan to write a story. Any thoughts on whether to move this page to that namespace, as So You Want To / Stop The Deus Ex Machina? It'd be a shorter name and fit in with many other pages on how to write.

Makes sense to me, it'd certainly streamline things. We should keep this as a redirect however, after looking at the referalls this article is getting (2,682!) we may want to keep it for incoming wicks.

Shouldn't this be in useful notes? It's certainly not a trope. Also, what does it have to do with a Deus ex Machina? This whole article is about how to stop an element in the plot from putting an early end to it. A Deus ex Machina is an element from outside the plot that puts an early end to it.
