The Megabug is not a barely sentient creature, it's a fully sentient subtle case of The Chessmaster and it wants to destroy the Mario and Rabbids universe. I don't understand why people are deleting random stuff for no reason with no sentence explaining why afterwards. Be smart guys or else an edit war will start. That's why I'm taking this to discussion.

I think the reason that most people are confused with the Megabug is because of the fact that it doesn't have any dialogue. We're just going by what the other characters in the game tell us about it, so it's unclear how much sentience it actually has.
It's not a Chessmaster, a chessmaster implies it's actively manipulating things to it's benefit. It isn't. As far as the game shows, it's just what happened after the vortex became strong enough to take a physical shape.
At best it has the intelligence of an animal, doing what it can to ensure it's survival.
The whole thing is a prime example of people making mountains out of molehills.
But here's what I think you missed. The Megabug engineered the games' situation, it unleashed a Hate Plague on the rabbids, but if you defeat the rabbids, it grows. It made it so no matter what you do, you'll be helping it, as it'll either wreak havoc with its Rabbids or engulf the universe,
THAT is what i think seperates it from being a GDV. It is a not-entirely apparent at the start that it is a subdued type of Chessmaster.

Which as Mah Stache is saying, is essentially a Xanatos Gambit, which is where no matter what, the opponent will always have a benefit in the end. Anyway personally I think that as Mah Stache pointed out, this turns it into a Flat Character doing things because it can (There is a difference between a GDV and a Flat Character).
It's more like Ronan from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, then something like Kid Buu is what I'm trying to say.
EDIT: And he got suspended. Time to fix the edits up. BTW what about the Megabug being a force of nature? That was never confirmed in the game itself. It never mentions about agency, can I put it back up for it breaking the Moral Event Horizon?

Very late but my response. We are never once told it's responsible for happened. A chessmaster implies it orchestrated the situation that occurs but it didn't. The Rabbids mucking around with the tech caused it. The Megabug is a byproduct of the situation, not the one responsible.
What happened to the character images? Did the Data Vampires rear their ugly head or were they removed for a reason? If the former, is it okay to repost them?
UPDATE: The images have been re-added, so no further discussion needed.

Yep I readded them. I didn't notice they were gone in the first place to be honest, but hey, it's fixed now.
Though I couldn't find a decent Beep-0 image anywhere... that would be nice to have.

Given that most of the main case of Kingdom Battle appears in Sparks of Hope, I feel like instead of having SoH having its own character page, we merge it with this page and just call it the Mario Plus Rabbids page. Just a thought, that's all.
