I recommend keeping them separate like how Jemma and Lorenzo are due to the nature of their relationship.
Once again insane about XiaoI brought up the suggestion due to the two aforementioned characters having at least three common tropes ("Bittersweet Ending," "Heroic Bastard," and "Siblings in Crime"), which are written in a near-identical fashion. In the event they are to be joined in a single folder, those three common tropes can be placed under a "Shared Tropes" subheading (maybe we could also add "Sibling Yin-Yang" to that list, as well as "Mirror Character" if we also consider Veronique a parallel to Jemma), while those particular to either character are given their separate subheadings.
Hmm...I suppose we could rename them The Two Musketeers. But heavily disagree with the Veronique-Jemma Mirror Character comparison, since the latter was wholly acting out of a sense of entitlement. I mean other than being part of a duo that committed murder there isn't much similarity between them.
Edited by CatVillianess Once again insane about XiaoGiven how much could apply to Navia, should she get her own page?
Hide / Show RepliesThat depends on if the contents of her folder reaches 40k bytes. As of this writing, she only has approximately 24k bytes, only slightly more than halfway to the 40k threshold.
It's not just a boulder, it's a Rock. :^)I see. Well, if she gets more, then it could at least be considered.
Silly question. Are the folders for the Narzissenkreuz characters lengthy enough to deserve their own page?
Hide / Show RepliesPurely the Narzissenkreuz characters? The entire section from the general folder (Past) to Annapausis Lyris' folder is just slightly more than 7k words.
Once again insane about XiaoIMHO, we could probably add a hidden comment on Genshin's character pages denoting the minimum word and/or size quota for certain folders to be given a separate page (forgive me if I misheard, but someone said the quota is idealy either 40,000 words or the page size is at least 40KB).
Edited by zero5889It's 40,000 bytes, or 6,000 words. So at 7,000 words Narzissenkreuz Institute is eligible for its own page.
Speaking of... should we move Seymour and Caterpillar to the Narzissenkreuz page once it's created? Seymour can definitely be separated from the folders for generic enemy mooks, and Caterpillar has way more presence in Wake of Narcissus + Pursuit than Unfinished Comedy.
I think all entries should be ideally written for fresh eyes who know nothing about the lore, otherwise spoiler tags are unnecessary. So I prefer Cater to be where he currently is. I agree with moving Seymour though, since the Mek section is primarily for the enemy units.
Additionally, I've been wondering if it's more worth it to lump the historical characters with the Narzissenkreuz Institute not only because they shaped the kids' fates in some way, but also to give more focus to the living Fontaine characters on the main page.
Edited by CatVillianess Once again insane about XiaoA section called "Characters related to the Institute" would work for the human historical characters.
Do we also move Elynas over given the importance of the battle there ? Or do we try to keep things spoiler free like for Cater and keep him in the main Fontaine page.
Personally I would simply relabel the Narzissenkruez page as "Historical" because we're currently lacking any entries about the Remurian era (though I'm not sure how important they'd be in the grand scheme). There is no twist as to who Elynas is unlike Cater so I would move Elynas there.
Once again insane about XiaoJust noticed that Lyris (unmarked spoilers) has two folders here. Should they be merged?
Hide / Show RepliesThey are different Lyrises. One is the OG Lyris who was orphanage director and Red Empress, and one is the Mary-Ann/Lyris fusion you meet in game. The Fandom wiki has the Mary-Ann/Lyris fusion on Mary-Ann's page (more like, it considers the fusion to be Mary-Ann). I consider the fusion to be its own character, and thus shouldn't be fused with either Lyris or Mary-Ann. At the end of the Narzissenkreuz quests, Narzissenkreuz suggests merging Ann and Mary-Ann and then splitting apart Lyris and Mary-Ann. They refuse, meaning they've become their own persons.
Wriothesley's section is about to reach the 40k bytes. Should he have his own page too? Right now it's at 37k, does that count?
Edited by Bibimbapgyu Hide / Show RepliesWe wait for him to actually get the 40k, and we make sure the rest of the page isn't too short without him
It's likely more appropriate to just split the Fortress of Meropide than give Wriothesley his own page. The area is more lore-relevant than we thought.
Well, it looks like Wriothesley got his own page anyways. I think this will be fine, else we would've crossed into an Arataki Gang situation again, where the character that carries the character sheet and gets his own page, causes the sheet to not qualify for its own section.
Unlike the Arataki Gang which consisted strictly of 5 people, the Fortress of Meropide is considered to be a separate community to the Court of Fontaine entirely which we witnessed in the Archon Quests, the misc World Quests I undertook to earn coupons and Wriothesley's own Story Quest. It will take me some time to compile everything though.
Once Sigewinne becomes playable, we most likely need to create an entirely new page for the Fortress, but Wrio has so many entries he will probably still have his own page
Once again insane about XiaoDo we keep the Narzissenkreuz gang in Historical or not? Considering they are all extremely important in Fontaine's world quests and play active roles in those. Comparing them to Vautrin and Carole, who are also from 400+ years ago, but managed to get placed under Marechaussee Phantom rather than Historical.
Anybody all for giving the Oceanids their own page? It seems that they are relevant as of recent events despite being spread out.
Hide / Show RepliesRhodeia, Idyia and Urania's tropes are all on other pages and the entries for Endora + the newest additions currently don't add up to 40k words, so I don't think it's time yet.
Once again insane about XiaoOK. Entries can be recalled, as Veluriyam Mirage is an isolated time-limited region rather than part of Sumeru despite the similar biomes, and four-leaf sigils that send the PC to the air when key T is pressed.
Edited by Guest83416Yeah, I think it’s about time to give the Oceanids their own page. Only question is where should we put it since they are everywhere in Teyvat.
Probably under Other. Unless you want to put it under Transnational organizations.
I came, I saw, I waddled.Offering a proposal to move several NPCs known to have lived in the Court of Fontaine (i.e., Cesar, Chiori, Cowell, Estelle, Halsey, Jemma, Lorenzo, Marcel, Sonny & Luca, and Virgil) into that related page (under the "Civilians" subheading).
Edited by zero5889 Hide / Show RepliesAlright, I done it. I created a Sandbox page for Furina, as seen here. As her folder gets updated with more information, I'll also add them to the sandbox page. Then once her page is exceedingly close to reaching 40,000 bytes, then I can consult the thread for the green light in giving Furina her own page.
It's not just a boulder, it's a Rock. :^) Hide / Show RepliesMay I clarify that by bytes, you mean words?
Once again insane about XiaoBased on Character Specific Pages, it's suggested that "bytes" means individual characters (letters).
It's not just a boulder, it's a Rock. :^)Once she gets very close to reaching 40000 bytes, then yeah.
It's not just a boulder, it's a Rock. :^)@Konoe Jerry how many bytes does her folder currently have?
Edited by Hassantaleb1234Approximately 25,286 bytes at the time of this writing. I may gather her folder into a Sandbox page for later reference.
It's not just a boulder, it's a Rock. :^)Proposing moving Kurisu/Christopher and Xavier back to Inazuma, given their prominent roles in that place (the former being the president of an association of foreign traders in Ritou, the latter the Quest Giver for a World Quest series that helps open up Tatarasuna), as well as Dvorak to Liyue given his prominent role in the 2023 Lantern Rite event (arguably the flagship limited-time event of Genshin Impact). As compensation, their folders will be replaced with redirects to those pages.
In addition, Halsey/Lilliane's trope list will be moved from the general Mondstadt page given that, though Mondstadter by birth, she plays a critical role in the earlier parts of the Fontaine Archon Quest.
Edited by zero5889Do Freminet, Lyney, and Lynette fit the Freudian Trio trope? Lyney is obviously the Id, but I'm torn apart on who's the Ego and Superego. On one hand, Freminet is the most withdrawn one, making him suitable for being the Superego, with Lynette, being the one who often comforts him, being the Ego. However, Lynette is also stoic and emotionless, which is, more often than not, the characteristic of Superego, and in result, may put Freminet on Ego. Just asking before I add anything.
Edited by ZovinJust wanna ask. Since the 4.0 trailer confirmed that Furina is the Hydro Archon, should her character profile be moved to the Archons page, and be listed under the Hydro Archon's profile?
BTW, please call me Jake. Hide / Show RepliesI don't think so, given that the previous four did not get the same treatment.
It's not just a boulder, it's a Rock. :^)Edit- Did stated that Ei used to get that treatment prior to getting her own page, but then, I remember her character profile being under the Inazuma characters now. Perhaps the tropes regarding her within the Archon page should moved to here instead?
Edited by MummyGaGa BTW, please call me Jake.So basically move all the tropes under "Hydro Archon" to Furina's entry replacing it with "The current Hydro Archon of Fontaine. Please see her page here"? I'm ok with that
Once again insane about Xiao
Minor question: is it appropriate to lump Baptiste and Veronique under a shared folder (with their individual tropes possibly given their own subheading)?
