Done. I’ll de-spoiler Setsuko’s cremation as well; the Japanese cremate almost all of their dead, and there’s a broken bone that falls out of the Fruit Drop box, so it’s fairly obvious.
The Idiot Ball trope should be changed or eliminated because That whole point is hotly discussed still. My impression was that The Aunt told them basically that Seita and Setsuko had better start pulling their weight by helping around the house or Getting a job with the Fire Dept, avery Hazardous job at that because they were draining resources from her family or leave if you cannot helput. You forgot upon arriving The Aunt forced Seita to sell what possions they had outside what they were wearing and the tin box so they could buy Rice and cooking gear with most of the rice going to the Aunts family. The aunt could have shared cooking gear with Seita and Setsuko and arrangeg some sort of working around the house agreement upon arrival. The Aunt clearly Drained what resources the kids had and then kicked them out, discouraging them from coming back. So going back was not an option
Edited by 216.99.32.45There should be a Trivia page, because I had a serious case of Hey Its That Voice when watching this. For starters, Veronica Taylor, a.k.a. Ash Ketchum, is the mother of Seita and Setsuko, and Dan Green, a.k.a., Yugi Moto himself, provides several background voices in the dub.
Okay, who's been messing around with my brain?I removed the Take That Me example because that redirects to Self-Deprecation now, and that's a comedy trope. If anyone else figures out what it should actually be, feel free to put it back in.
I think we should consider de-tagging the 'spoilers' that Seita and Setsuko died, since this is revealed in quite literally the opening scene of the movie. Thoughts?
