In terms of Ramsay, he\\\'s definitely a smarter, more affable character on the show- but that\\\'s a change true throughout, not just with this episode. Moreover, as shown by his playing Reek in the books, book!Ramsay \\\'\\\'is\\\'\\\' perfectly capable of pretending to be humble and manipulating other people to trust and somewhat like him- although of course he \\\"revenges\\\" himself on Theon afterward. Now once Ramsay is legitimized in the books, he does show the BerserkButton mentioned- but IMO, that felt like flanderization to me because of his previous behavior (of course, SanityHasAdvantages).

As for the Waif, in the books, there is a scene where as part of Arya\\\'s training, they play the \\\"lying game\\\" and just like the show, the Waif repeatedly slaps Arya. I guess it\\\'s somewhat more antagonistic in the show and less clearly training (although IMO I think Jaqen was definitely in on it), but I don\\\'t think it\\\'s a huge difference, especially because the Waif might be given more personality in subsequent episodes.
