Jesus is referred to as a sacrificial lamb -the ultimate one- but he doesn\\\'t fit the trope description as it\\\'s written. I\\\'m not talking about the resurrection. I\\\'m talking about: \\\"S/He is presented as an important part in the plot or having a close relationship with the main characters, perhaps filling a character archetype (love interest, best friend, etc). Then, in a shocking twist, the lamb is slaughtered early on — by episode seven, tops.\\\"

Jesus was the main character. The \\\'plot\\\' of the Gospels focused on him, his life, and his works. He motivated things, acted to initiate events -his mere presence sets off some people, in good and bad ways.

His death occurs at or close to the end of the Gospels, with the Epistles being more \\\'sequels\\\' or \\\'what happened to the other guys next\\\' rather than \\\'going on and into the main part of the plot\\\'.

His followers continued with his work because of his life, not in spite of his death. The plot of the Epistles exists because of Jesus, and continues after the death of the main character, but are a new stage of the story. Neither the Gospels or the Epistles have a plot that would have occurred whether he had existed or not, which many of the examples consist of.

Maybe Sacrificial Lion would work better. I\\\'m not sure, though.
