This scenario should be Do Not Call Me "Paul". There probably shouldn't be so much overlap between Do Not Call Me "Paul" and Malicious Misnaming, but that might be something for Trope Repair Shop or Ask The Tropers to make a final decision on.

Is it still Malicious Misnaming if the renamed person insists on going by a nickname or a self-aggrandizing name, and the other is going by their real or original name?
For instance, Dumbledore always addressing Voldemort as Tom Riddle.
