The Social Darwinist quickly comes to mind. Many characters of this type take an "If you can't protect yourself without help, then I have no pity for you" kind of attitude.

See Dirty Coward if the character reaches safety at the expense of other characters.

This would also be It's All About Me from the sound of it, however.
This is a character who only cares about his safety, like how Gaara didn't care for his siblings, not like in an It's All About Me way.
