Bump. They created a new draft, and their grammar problems are more apparent there. They misspelled magic as "magick".

Spelling it that way is actually a whole trope, though not one that appears to be relevant to this draft.

^ Damn, I didn't know it was archaick spelling. Ok then, please disregard that bit. My apologies.

Can we run a sockpuppet check on Al? His drafts keep getting 3 hats in just a matter of minutes despite not ever having examples.

I'm not a fan of this, either. I just posted the following at "Parasitic Immortality," given that they're itching to launch this and said so:

"The wording in the description is awkward. It could use some editing and polish for my taste. There's at least one run-on sentence and a couple fragments that don't read that well."

I'm not sure their English is the best. Trope has been up less than a week, too — seems a little rushed, no?

Their "Realistic Magic" trope summary is less than good as well. I bombed that draft, as well as "Parasitic Immortality."

They launched Parasitic Immortality a mere three hours after announcing their intentions. I'm relatively new to TLP so I don't know all its guidelines, but this is not allowed, is it? I generally see users updating the draft by changing its title to "Trope Name (Launching Day X)" before launching.

^ There's no actual rule but people are trying to set a new guideline of "Wait at least 24 hours".

^^They did launch this despite my concerns about wording and bombing the trope. It doesn't look like they changed a thing in the draft. There was no response to my concerns at all. No discussion, no PM, nothing.

I've run into several tropers like this who clearly have problems with English, and I've cleaned up pages of stuff like this in past (Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, and Disney Princess for three). This will need word cleanup as well. Can't someone with more authority than me look into this?

Considering they've started a third draft with the same grammar issues, then yeah, I think mod intervention is needed. They're flat-out ignoring our requests to use the GHWE thread.

Agreed, it's a problem. No examples, poorly worded, and it got two hats right off the bat. I've written a nicely worded but negative reaction there and bombed it. Wish someone would step in on this.

Also, the "Realistic Magic" trope was nuked. Okay by me in theory as it had problems, but is this allowed? There are several old tropes still sitting around abandoned, and it's always possible that a new troper will take it up and make it worthy. Just asking.

Also their drafts usually get two hats, even when they have no examples. They must have sockpuppets. Any mods?

I've unlauched Parasitic Immortality and have brought them back in.

^^^Agreed. I'm concerned about Troper "Malconttent" as well. Especially with the first post at "Strike the Mainframe" from them referring to "My proposed trope..." Similar issues with English, too.

Regardless, this is presumably a new account (if it's not a ban evader), and I'm not sure that the place for someone that green is the TLP.

That proposal has nothing at all to do with the original draft besides being a computer trope. And the proposal is already covered by Omniscient Database and Viewer-Friendly Interface.

It's possible that person just truly doesn't know how the TLP works and thinks you propose new tropes on other drafts, and this was the first draft they saw or the closest related draft to their idea.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
