...Animated Film, just to prevent confusion, right?
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!I'd say Anime and Manga, if only for their general aesthetic and Japanese origin.
From Media Categories FAQ:
What category do animated films go in? They get their own category, namely Films — Animation.
Why do animated films get their own category? To avoid confusion over whether they belong under Films or Western Animation (or Films or Anime & Manga, for Japanese animated films).
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.As far as I've seen, most animated films are under the Western Animation namespace. The exception is films in the Disney Animated Canon, which are under a Disney namespace.
As for Ghibli, I would say anime.
^ This isn't about the namespace. Some pages have a category called Animated Film, and The Red Turtle and Wakfu open up massive debates about what category they fit into, so animated film stops these arguments until the page is up (since tropes are collected sometimes before the page goes up.)
Keeper of The Celestial FlameIf a Japanese animation is in film format, it would go to Animated Film. Unless you want to get rid of the folder entirely.
You know the "western animation or film" dilemma we had a while back that resulted in animated films getting their own category? Well, I noticed a similar one with anime films like those of Studio Ghibli. Sometimes they get put in the anime and manga folder/page, and sometimes in the animated films folder/page. So which one is correct?
