Everything after "...during the '80s could be a racist symbol" can be removed, as it's not relevant and just asking for trouble. There's also waffle at the start, just say "People who know flags", not vexillogists or Sheldon Cooper. Also mention the Anachronism Stew and Unreliable Narrator tendencies of the show, to suggest that maybe because Adam is familiar with the current RSA flag he doesn't properly remember what it was in the '80s.

That seems more just like a legit error to me than Politically Correct History and the editor is trying to read way to far into it to make it this trope.
Either from ignorance to the fact the flag has changed or being unable to get a period correct one.
I was browsing in YMMV.The Goldbergs and was about to move a misplaced entry until I saw the content. Now I'm wondering if it should be there at all.
I don't even now if it's using the trope correctly as well.
