I second Lighter and Softer and Disneyfication. They sound right, because I've seen Darker and Edgier and Hotter and Sexier used to describe cases where family-friendly productions have been remade for adults only (the R-rated Dukes of Hazzard movies come to mind), so those feel like a proper counterpoint.

Do we have a specific trope for cases like the animated Rambo or Highlander cartoons where Hard-R movies got Bleached Underpants adaptions aimed at kids?
I know it happened a lot back in the 80s and 90s and there was a whole slew of cartoons based on R-rated movies that were targeted at kids.
