As an artist, I often have that. The closest that I could think of is
- Magnum Opus Dissonance, where the an artist makes a project with their blood, sweat, and tears put into it, only for the critic/viewer to call it as meh.

Probably covered by a combination of Mad Artist and Starving Artist and their related tropes. Does Visionary Villain have a supertrope that's just The Visionary?
An artist who has a vision! They know how their work should be... but they struggle to realize it, and go to great lengths to make their work what they think it should be.
