Researches till the point of Trope Overdosed beyond which media cannot appear as anything other than a bunch of tropes from the creators

Looks like Reality Warper, or some subtrope.

Ah wait, I think I'm getting the key distinction here. They have the same powers as other super-folks, but they don't need the various "accoutrements" like incantations or special materials. Obviously, it's only noticible in a setting where most super-folks do need the stuff.

I can think of just one example: in the Harry Potter 'verse, Dumbledore and Voldemort can do wandless magic that others need wands for. Also, learning to do incantations nonverbally is a skill that separates some wizards/witches from others (but almost everyone eventually learns it).

Any other examples? That might help us narrow down the trope.
