The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
not exactly. its completely missing the point up until the end, where something random will queue them into what has been very obviously hinted (or stated) all along. More like a double completely missing the point used together as one gag.
anyone? would this be YTTKW worthy?
It's "cue" not "queue", this could've confused some readers.
I'm thinking this is an evil twin to Completely Missing The Point, and could be YKTTWed as such.
However, this is exactly listed as "inverted" in Completely Missing The Point. I'm not sure whether Playing With other tropes qualifies for new tropes. I'm thinking this should only be done when the new trope is actually popular enough to merit its own page - together with a link in the other trope's Playing With list.
Edited by SinusPi I wonder what this button does...Slightly related to "Eureka!" Moment I suppose...
Or, Completely Missing The Point followed by Bat Deduction.
I wonder what this button does...
Do we have a trope for where a very obvious clue fails to queue in a person, but a random unrelated statement makes them think of it immediately?
two cases of this i can think of is
1. in the simpsons homer is given hints to getting marge pregnant with bart, even moe going so far as to say "way to get marge pregnant" and he still didnt get it, but when someone congratulates him on his new job, he freaks out about marge being pregnant
2. in DBZ abridged, krillin's screams for help are interpenetrated by goku as a space duck, but when krillin quacks goku figures it out and goes to help.
