For good reason. Rock music has fallen hard from the mainstream. At least the unbiased form of it. Songs like "In the End" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" were massive pop crossovers in their days, and rock music ruled the charts throughout the '00s. However, since then the only acts that have remained relevant did so by shifting to poppier styles that include electronica and folk, while those who play unbiased rock find themselves limited to their own format.

For that reason, it should be included. At least until rock makes a return in its unbiased form.

Anyone else have something to say?

Rock? You mean like Queen and the Beetles?

People might not make it anymore, but I was under the impression that their songs were considered classics.

Deader Than Disco is supposed to be things that are largely reviled now. It's not just for things that have fallen out of popularity, or some people think got worse. As far as I can tell, classic rock music is still remembered fondly by many.

But this is about modern rock, which has fallen out of favor since Post-Grunge died out and forced into its own format. At the very least, that needs to be mentioned.

Fallen out of favor isn't enough. There has to be backlash against it, and it has to be remembered more for its backlash. It doesn't seem like Deader Than Disco applies here. Perhaps you could ask on Lost And Found what a better fit might be.

That is balls-out stupid. Rock is not the new disco. Keep it up, Tokyo, and you'll earn a site ban.

Part of the problem here is that the trope description on the DeaderThanDisco.Rock Music subpage doesn't match the description on the main Deader Than Disco page. The subpage description says nothing about the backlash elements, and is therefore misleading.

Bigotry in the name of inclusion is still bigotry.

If it's misleading, then I don't think it qualifies as an example. Remove it. If the other troper re-adds, they'll be Edit Warring.

Personally, I'd rather leave the fate of the example in question to someone who actually knows something about rock music.

Bigotry in the name of inclusion is still bigotry.

I really dont like that Deader Than Disco Page. It invites people to just put anything there to have "Evidence" that a work or genre they dont like is...well...Deader Than Disco.

Especially since it includes stuff people do like such as Phineas And Ferb.

Rock music isn't dead. Crossover rock is dead. Maybe that's what you mean.

I no longer edit on TV Tropes but will continue as an occasional forum poster.

Good lord, that was a stupid prologue.

Anyhoo, I'm going to edit the intro to the page to make it clear Deader Than Disco doesn't just mean "it's not as popular today as it was" because that is a bit confusing.

Rock is a diverse genre. Just because it has become "biased" doesn't mean it's dead; it's just evolving.
