~skan123 "Depreciated" "these days"? I was under the impression Zero Context Examples are prohibited and have been for a long time. It's just that enforcement is spotty because it relies on the community to self-police and report when that fails.

In regards to the original query, I would send a stub notifier to the page creator to give them a warning and a chance to clean up their mess; if a few days pass and it hasn't been done then cut away.

If the page doesn't have at least three contextualized tropes, cut list away. If it has the bare minimum but is still nearly all ZCE, you might consider moving the handful of good examples to the work page before cut listing.
Okay then. And what if it’s been months since these changes were made and they haven’t been changed? And also for some of these Planet Dolan examples (especially when you go through the page), there are examples, but so few I’m wondering if I should cut the folders entirely.

(Checking some folders arbitrarily) They're not terrible. Or I've seen much worse. And you seem to know the work and characters since you've added tropes? I'd suggest just hiding ZCE, which is standard practice. Tropeless folders are not allowed, so those can be hidden or cut.
They were never allowed, not just "these days".
Again, they reason why there's so many and why more keep popping up is because rule breaking edits and users have to be dealt with by rule abiding users since the site is too large for the handful of mods to check it all; as such ZC Es will remain until someone spots and deals them, and people that add them will keep adding them until they get informed of their mistakes, and if they keep at it then they get reported and forced to stop.
They were allowed, a very long time ago, when many things that are Very Definitely Unacceptable now used to be allowed because there were fewer rules. You're both right in a way and it's not worth arguing about. And yes, bad editing often outpaces good editing...
Yeah, that characters page doesn’t look too bad now, although I haven’t given it a proper look. Just hide the ZCE examples.
How do you deal with character pages that are bare bones apart from an image or Zero-Context Examples? Is it okay to get rid of them if they aren't fleshed out, or do you have to get approval?
I’ve brought the page I want to deal with (the overloaded Planet Dolan page) to the Character Page Cleanup
thread, but I don’t know where else to go from there.
