Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

If a link is dead and you can't replace it, then yes, delete it and reword the example if necessary. However, if the example relies on the link to make sense, it's violation of Weblinks Are Not Examples and should be rewritten so that the link is only optional reading/viewing.
Okay, thank you! ^^ so Archive links are okay? Also, noted about the examples being dependent on the links, I will check those examples when I redo the links
In the order of preference:
- no links, use more words instead
- a link to any official source
- For images, uploaded to TV Tropes images and linked through there
- Archives.
Also for the record, links to unofficial scanlations (pirated manga) aren't allowed even archived.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAmonimus - I might reword them when possible, because in my honest opinion, a fair chunk can just be explained rather than linking the image it's referencing. Thank you for the help!
Hi there! Long time lurker, newbie editor of pages. I decided to do a baby step of fixing some dead links on the *K-ON!* page. However, I'm unfamiliar with what exactly is fine to use as an example image. Are archive.org okay to use, or is first-hand source preferred? I was able to replace one with another example image (since they demonstrated the same thing), but some of the others don't have exact replacements. I have found an archive log of one example, but am unsure if I could use it.
Also, what should I do if a link is dead, and I can't replace it? Three out of four video links have since been deleted, unclear if by copyright or by the user, so I'm worried I might not be able to find replacements. Should I remove the links if I can't?
[PS: if one could redirect me to a source that explains this, it would be much appreciated. ^^ I've tried but I didn't find one as of typing this]
