Hi there - before considering any splitting, it might be worth taking a look at the recently revised policy Character Specific Pages to see if any of these individual pages ought to be merged back.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're suggesting (for example) that Alessia is split into her own page? That would be against policy, as the page in which she sits is well under the required character count. None of these characters should be split from their parent page.

No, I'm not creating any Character-Specific Pages at the moment; I'm just showing where the characters' folders would be in relation to each other on the page. Alessia's folder would be the only one in the First Empire section, but the First Empire section itself would be sharing a page with the other historical figures; Historical Figures would still be a single page, just with multiple sections. The Divine Beings page is the only one I'm looking to split into separate pages, and each of those pages would have multiple characters.

TL;DR: Divine Beings would a hard split and Historical Figures would be a soft split.

If you're literally just sectioning off characters into groups via a heading, then that should be ok. The Historical figures page is only 170k bytes, so it shouldn't be split into smaller, separate pages - there's no need technically - though you could group the characters differently into sections via headings, if that make sense in context. The Divine Beings pages is large (at 288k, it's over the threshold), so this page could be split in two - e.g. a page for Other Deities.

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do for now. Thanks.
