I'm inclined to agree with the deletion. Calliope has the power to inspire artists, but by raping her, Madoc and Fry don't get that same power, they get the power applied to them.
It's kind of like, if you sleep with a fire user and get fire powers, that's Sexually Transmitted Superpowers. If you sleep with a fire user and get burned in the act, that's just an effect of their powers.
Paul A removed this example from Sexually Transmitted Superpowers (plus a similar example from an adaptation):
Their argument in the edit reason is "Being inspired to write a novel is not a superpower".
Thing is, as I understand it that's kind of the whole point of the Muses: they're goddesses who literally represent the concept of artistic inspiration.
