Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
The subject of user-generated content in video games is being discussed in this thread.
I would say no, unless there is some in-game or in-universe acknowledgement so you're not just troping happenstance.
User experience is not identical to the UGC subjuct.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Yes, it's not the same thing, but people brought up the subject in that thread and it's a related topic, so I figured I'd link it.
it seems to vary; Characters.Animal Crossing Player Character lists some tropes that vary depending on the choices you make, but it's mostly general things like Cool Hat and You Gotta Have Blue Hair. at the very least there doesn't seem to be any gender-specific tropes — so maybe Black Mage would fit, but not Lady of Black Magic?

I'm in the long-term process of working on pages for an interactive fiction game, and I need advice on how to deal with the player character. If a character is customisable and thus has variable stats, orientation, gender, etc. is it appropriate to list tropes like The Dandy and Lady of Black Magic on their page?
The tropes do apply to a PC with that kind of build but that seems like it would clog a page up with all the different "characters" you could theoretically choose to play, and a lot of tropes that otherwise wouldn't be relevant.
I've been trying to find guidelines for this sort of situation, but I'm not sure where they are. Does anyone have any suggestions?
(p.s. I apologise for the jumbled state of the pages I'm working on - I'm learning as I go so I'll go back and fix them when I have time)
