Cozzer, that sounds...bad. Really bad. I've been thinking of loosening up and enjoying alcohol more but that certainly sounds bad. Hopefully I can avoid it. Although part of me wants to go to that extreme, if only once just to have it as an experience I can look back on and use later.

I think I'm experiencing an awakening after sheltering myself for basically my whole life. I'm trying to gain control over it. I just need to find a balance. You all are helping with this, especially Solip.

Meh, it definitely wasn't pleasant while it happened, but it made for pretty fun stories. :P Honestly, as long as you're in a safe environment (so you are with people you trust and either you can reach your home or have a place to crash nearby, or it's summer and you live in a safe enough place that you can just wait for morning), just do whatever you want to.

If you want to avoid the worst physical repercussions, I believe the best idea is to wait a bit between drinks. This way, you feel the effects of the drink you had before you drink the next one and you can decide whether it's worth it. If you don't wait enough, you drink more because you're not feeling the drinks you already had and then it hits you all together.

Protip: don't mix beer with spirits. You can switch between different spirits without too much of a problem, but mixing in beer makes bad things happen.

Also, while most people suggest eating to offset drunkenness, I'd advise watching what exactly you eat. The one time I got sick was either because pizza doesn't mix well with booze, or because it was bad pizza. The only reason I knew it wasn't the booze on its own was because I've had more before that and suffered no ill effects beyond the mental ones.

The temptation to keep drinking regardless of effect-yes, I can imagine that is powerful.

I mean, generally I'd say you don't need to worry about bad decisions like that while drinking unless you either drink a ton or are a total lightweight.

Oddly, I've found that I've always had an absurdly high alcohol tolerance. Like, it seems like I literally can't get more that slightly buzzed, and people I know can vouch for that.

I'm just going to try and stay away from alcohol. I know I'll become an alcoholic if I start drinking.

My tastes are too refined to become an alcoholic. I'd need a pretty good job to be able to support the habit. XD

Yeah. I find it confusing when people from other countries visit my OKC profile. It allows local stuff, so it doesn't really make sense to search internationally.

I don't understand how long-distance online relationships work. I just really don't.

I know I'd never be able to make a long-distance relationship work. I'm too clingy to the idea of having a physical presence.

I've had very few physical interactions with people in general. I gotta make up for lost time when I do finally start dating. >.<

With the drinking alcohol thing, the only time I've properly been drunk is when I went to my boyfriend's friend's house and there was a gathering with a lot of alcohol tongue

And I kinda did that thing where it wasn't hitting me, so I kept having a little bit more and then had to sit outside for a while and my boyfriend had to shepherd me home. So it wasn't too bad. And if I have a lot of alcohol, it just makes me sleepy really.

[up][up][up]

Depends if it started out as an online relationship. If you meet people online who are in different countries, I would assume it's easier as you are already used to not physically being with that person. But if you move away and are already in a relationship, then it's different. Because you do miss them, and I think how much you miss them links up with how much time you spent together before they moved away.

I haven't had much of that either. Most of my being in the same room situations with people have been entirely platonic. XD

And it's not just fucking. Contact in general is a big thing.

How different is an online relationship from a normal texting friendship? You call it a relationship, yes, but is it really if you can't see each other at all? Also, the temptation of being with someone else you can physically spend time with is even higher than it is in a normal physically present relationship.

The only real difference is how you feel about them, and I guess the stuff you say would be more flirty/romantic than friendly conversation.

And also we have a thing called Skype which means we can talk to each other online face to face tongue

Even beyond the emotional connection and meaning of the relationship there are still other difference, Skype is a thing, photo texting is a thing, technology has given us many ways to get naughty without physical presence, even if it's not as good as the real thing.

Even with just texting there's basic stuff, beyond what I say to my girlfriend that I don't say to other people, if nothing else I don't put kisses at the end of my texts to anyone else (unless I've been texting only my girlfriend for a while and accidentally add kisses to another text out of habit).

Most guys and gals who are friends or family here tend to write 'beijinhos' (little kisses) or some other variation of it at the end of the messages. Cultural differences, I suppose.

You're right. I know the power a texting relationship can have. If you're really invested in it then being without it suddenly can be a great loss. Take it from someone who knows, even if just on a friendship level. A romantic texting relationship isn't perfect, but it can be far better than not being with that person at all. The 21st century can indeed give us very great levels of connectivity.

I've seen platonic female friends write xx or xox to me and each other when messaging. Guys seem to do it very rarely, though, even to girls.

Yeah it's a me thing, several of my female friends and family end their texts with kisses and it doesn't mean anything, it's just how I happen to text. The point isn't exactly how I do it, but there's a difference between how I mark (that the right word?) the texts to my girlfriend compared to texts to other people. For me that difference is kisses at the end, for others I'm sure it would be other things.
