Please pardon me and feel free to guillotine me if this thread has already been made; I did a cursory search, and will take whatever beatings need to be meted out if I didn't search well enough.

Is it just me, or is this show in danger of running off the rails?

I can take a lot, but when they made freaking Will Zimmerman do a full-on Bollywood dance routine in Kali (s2 finale), it was... painful. Really, horribly, please pass the morphine painful. The thing that killed me about it was that it wasn't truly plot-relevant; the writers could have given any number of demands for Kali to make. Fetch this. Kill these bleeping Sanctuary folk who keep on flooding my home with sedatives. Capture the hot English guy and send him to Lamore Vincera. Anything. But "come up with some massively choreographed dance"? It just took me out of everything.

It doesn't really help that I kinda find Will annoying, I guess. I don't know how quickly voicing that opinion in the Sanctuary fandom would get me shot.

I DO think they've done some really outstanding stuff this season... A lot of the one-offs like Pavor Nocturnus were really well done. Hero was a lot of fun for its campiness. And I will fangirl aaaaaall over anything with Druitt or Tesla in it. Also, it was really cool to see Michael Shanks get to play a character who didn't have a stick permanently lodged up his ass. Only a matter of time until O'Neill drops by!

I just feel like they're doing some stupid retconning, making deus exes out of good characters (the Big Guy), and putting other good characters on a bus (Henry).

I hope they can turn it around.

dips a finger into the batter Yep; needs more Tesla.

Thoughts?

Haven't seen Kali yet, I'll reserve judgment till I have. Pavor Nocturnus, Sleepers, and Haunted were all awesome episodes though, and I agree that the show needs more Druitt and Tesla.

I actually not only enjoyed both parts of "Kali", but I really loved the Bollywood number - I thought it fit the episode well, and was both serious and funny, especially since the character is not a particularly great dancer. It was fun to see Will, who I usually find rather dull (an inferior version of Daniel Jackson in my opinion), really getting into the dance, even if he's feverish and possessed by the residue of the spider-link to Kali.

They definitely need to bring Druitt back, and Tesla. And I'd like to see Ashley come home, preferably alive and un-vampiric.

Loved Kali and the dance number. The music was catchy as well. Thouhg I coulda done without the fact that Kali was naked half the time.

This is still a signature.

Now that the new season started yersterday, I think we should continue this thread.

Yesterday episode was quite interesting, mostly because it shows more of the mythos of this world. I'm quite interested in knowing who were those guys sitting besides Kali maybe they are other special abnormals, just like her

The awesome it gets, the weirder it is...

Can I just say this show only became watchable when they dropped a bridge on Ashley? I hated her.

Some of you look a little more Asian to me.

Really enjoying season three so far. Looks like they're taking a more arc-based approach for this one. The ending of "Firewall" was very interesting.

Apparently, no one's been posting for a while, now... So! Saw "Tempus". Good bits - Rather classically executed, though - nothing that hasn't been seen - or done - in about every media following this type of plot. Am looking forward to seeing the effects on the timeline, though -especially considering there have been a few changes. Wonder how it will be explained that Worth will now blame Helen for his daughter's death once more - and she won't have a clue of what he's talking about. Also, "Springheel Jack"? Where did that come from?...

Change, my dear, and not a moment too soon.

I'm guessing he took the blame for Druitt's murders (in addition to some of his own killings), which is why they didn't know who Jack the Ripper was until after the fact. I was a bit confused about it at first too, someone had to explain it to me.

Makes some sense though, some people tie the legend of Springheeled Jack into the Jack the Ripper mystery.

The second best part of last week's episode was Henry lecturing Tesla about how dare Tesla backstab his friend Helen Magnus. Hello, Henry? I'm pretty sure Tesla has backstabbed Helen every single time he's shown up. (Well, except the Nazi episode). That's. What. Tesla. Does.

The best part was Tesla's smile when he finally developed super-electricity. I love that guy.

I liked the twist in this weeks episode, I would probalby see the signs if I would watch it again. "It's the little things that will give them away." Still, i wish they wouldn't have killed all the redshirts, because that was too obvious.

That was my first thought — new employees on a thinly veiled takeoff on The Thing? Guess they're all dead.

On the other hand, the head of the African sanctuary the other day wasn't a traitor OR a redshirt, so sometimes the show subverts expectations.

I was really hoping that Will would bust out his Bollywood dance powers this season. It would make up for forgetting his profiler micro-observation skills for the last several years.

(Although, now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense that the moles were who they were in the The Thing episode — those were the two people who could have spotted the impostors.)

This was an interesting way to pull off a musical episode.

So, anyone has anything to say about the season finale? I think it was good and i hope it means that the series will be more back to the roots next season. I kinda missed the cgi backgrounds during the last episodes. It's funny how you think they look cheap at first, but once you get used to it, it makes some of the series charm and it just belongs there.

... Did Sanctuary actually end a season without a cliffhanger? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!

Yeah, I liked it. I'm thinking I really need to rewatch season 3, though - I missed the first 3/4 of it or so. Luckily space still has all the episodes on their website.

I'm not sure why Will even bothers trying to outwit Magnus anymore. Whatever he is inclined to do — follow orders, quit, arrest her, bang Abby — he pretty much should just assume that Magnus has anticipated him and that it's All According to Plan.
