Well Sir. I am just saying that if you want a sweetroll there are so many other options for getting one from me. I mean you could ask for it. If you need one more than I do I'd be glad to help.

But taking one from me? That's dangerous. Especially since there are (lie) now over 120 different toxins coating that sweet roll. If you were to eat that I couldn't envy you in slightest.

>VOICE: INFORM THIEF OF TOXIC SWEETROLL

You tell the THIEF that the SWEETROLL he is carrying is now HIGHLY TOXIC. The THIEF looks at the SWEETROLL like it's a BARREL OF NUCLEAR WASTE, then SCREAMS LIKE A GIRL and DROPS THE SWEETROLL, running away.

(Sincerely) You sure you don't want me to buy you a sweet roll? I mean it's really no problem. Since you obviously seem to want one badly enough to take one. I mean you just can't have THAT one. C'mon it'll be my treat!

Seems like his BARK was worse than his BITE, as he runs away violently screaming.

Oh well. Least you've still got your SWEETROLL.

I think you did well! Just remember to keep F5 or Thread Watch handy, because WAOA runs pretty quickly.

Have fun out there! grin

Hello! I recently went on a Trope Safari and popped up on the roleplay page for WAOA. I really want to join in, but I don't know how to start and if I can drop in straight away with you guys.

And I'm sorry if I'm not making sense, I really don't know how to start off formal-ish posts. :c

But basically, I want to join in the roleplay, and, uhm, hi!

Hey there Baseplate, welcome to WAOA. smile

The game's open for anyone to try and get into, so of course you're welcome to join in. Usually for people who aren't sure where to start, we direct them to read through the rules that we set up. They're pretty basic no-brainers, so no pressure there.

Then usually we ask you what kind of character you intend to play in order to provide helpful feedback if necessary before getting you up to speed on the in-game conditions. Nothing extra fancy is needed, just their name, powers & skills, relevant history, and most importantly what kind of personality they have. That last one's pretty big for everyone to know since the game is more focused around character interaction than action and fighting.

If you have any further questions, go ahead and ask. smile

Thank you. c:

Here's my character sheet. I hope that she doesn't come off as a mary sue. :c

USS Louisiana

BB 71 | Montana-class

  • Age: Appears to be 19, though her real age is unknown.
  • Appearance: She's a tall, leggy brunette. Her height is 187-188 centimetres, and she's quite well-endowed as well.
  • Home Universe: The Kantai Collection Universe.
  • Personality: Louisiana is a very nice girl, who has a tendency to be incredibly supportive to practical strangers, as well as being very emotional and caring. She's a bit hot-blooded and definitely very excitable, but otherwise is very easy-going. It's hard to make her truly angry, and there seems to not be an evil bone in her body. She also likes hugs.
  • Bio: As the first shipgirl to return to the forces of the United States of America, Louisiana is a bit of an oddity as she does not conform to the general rule of summoning. That is, you have to have a physical steelhull body at some point before being able to be summoned as a shipgirl. Nevertheless, Louisiana's return was very well welcomed, with the brunette battleship's southern charm and generally agreeable personality giving the beleaguered forces of the world a will to fight. During the Abyssal War, she racked up a truly impressive service record, and retired after the war to live a relatively quiet life.
  • Abilities/Equipment:
    • Miracle Worker: She's something of a technological savant due to her and her crew's extensive training in repairs and damage control theory. With some work, she can make nearly anything work properly again.
    • Mechanical: While not truly being a mechanical construct (she is a literal machine goddess), she is mechanical enough in physical form. While her skin and body externally mimics a human female, her insides are a different story, consisting of highly advanced ship analogues of human organs. These render her much more resilient to damage — to the point where she is durable enough to absorb the shock from a tank shell with negligible damage. With her riggings, however, her durability and endurance is dramatically raised to the point where she can withstand attacks that an actual Montana-class battleship can.
    • Riggings: The magical additions to a shipgirl's frame that truly distinguishes them from normal humans. These are extensions of the ship spirit's soul, comprising of their actual soul extending themselves into the three spatial dimensions. No one is quite sure how they work or how they are even summoned, not even the shipgirls themselves. Nevertheless, they are that makes a shipgirl a formidable adversary to face, as it allows them full access to their namesake's might. Shipgirls can make these disappear and reappear at will, and they can be damaged enough that they are rendered non-functional.
    • Advanced Radar and Gun Fire Control Systems: This is a passive extension of her abilities as a battleship, translated into human form. Louisiana has incredibly good vision, and can use a sort of pseudo-radar to track targets in low-light conditions. She is also a crack shot with most modern firearms, though anything more advanced than a simple slug-thrower might prove to be challenging for her to adapt to.

Yep, can safely say the Montana looks like a pretty nice character.

Last I checked, we are currently in New York City, and it may or may not be part of our hybrid DC/Marvel universe, I have actually forgotten. Drop in whenever you feel like, keep F5 or the Thread Watchlist at the ready, and remember to have fun! smile

So since we didn't even have an actual vote for the location, could the non-PSO 2 people at least get a nice summary of the place we are now at? tongue

I was going to let bacon do that since he wants to run it.

Also there is another thing we need to discuss, Ethers wants to run a haloween subplot, how do do so?

Or something else, depends on what that plot is. tongue

Okay well don't think of this as official or anything but.

Ur is a ship, a colony ship which should tell you how fuckheug it is. There's litteral city inside of it, and I'm pretty certain several biomes as well considering its Phantasy Star.

Generally Arks hang around in four areas.

The Space Gate which is basically a huge lobby with couches and people manning various utility services for the ARKS, like quests and all that. As well as a hospital.

The Shop Area which is exactly what it sounds like, a big futuristic shopping mall.

And the casino. Which is a casino. Its a pretty place with flashy lights that will take all your money if you stay there long enough.

EDIT:I forgot Frankas but its a cafe. It sells cafe things.

jam is right, i'll just add the extra bits he missed.

there's also the interior city which the group will get access to which is over 70 Km in length. This is pretty much where non-plot people can hang out without having to worry about darkers and shit, but you it's also close enough so that plot people can still hang out with them between missions.

@Sunny Treat it like another And Now For Something Completely Different arc by focusing on non-plot characters, old and new

Also, since I totally forgot up until now (sorry B), think my initial choice for the current PSO 2 arc is gonna be Kaz the elf.

She's essentially working with low-level technology by choice, so she has a kukri and a set of bow and arrows. She also has a few abilities to create certain kinds of plants to create raw materials (like very small explosives and ammunition for her arrows), but nothing beyond that.

...Again, super sorry I forgot about this until now >.<

Can I enter as two people in one avatar? Or should I only use an avatar with one person? Also, can I use real-life people as my avatar?

The name is pretty much an artifact title at this point, so sure, no reason you cant.

I will let Rai take over from here though.

In order:

1) We don't advise it for someone who's just jumping in, but it's definitely possible. Some people did that to justify playing multiple characters

2) That's usually how we do it just to make it easier, but like I said, it's possible to have two characters crammed into one avatar if you really must do so. We often multiple characters, each with their own separate avatar, as well.

3) It's not often done, what with people being afraid of taking a fictional representation in a direction that's a bit too political/controversial/soapboxy (like say Hitler or something), but if you mean like a movie character from a live-action film like Indiana Jones or Star Wars or something, then most definitely done before and with no problems. smile

Anyways, welcome to WAOA. If you've taken a look at the rules, clue us in on what kind of character/s you intend to play. smile

...I can introduce multiple characters at once, right?

By the way, the I'm going to use flanderized versions of my real-life avatars (viz. Hitler, Stalin and Wilhelm II), in the vein of Hitler Rants.

Well, yes. But to be honest, I would heavily advise against that for your first few character/s. You might have some trouble getting into an rp that's about casual conversation and everyday life interaction when you're playing real-life dictators who only speak in fake-subtitled shrieking.
