Someone else want to pick up the responsibility of GMing that then?

well

a problem with that

is that its hard to notice anything different about the REAL WORLD with just a bunch of stand people running around

since only Stand users can see Stands, and EVIL STANDS have no use attacking the group

Someone invents glasses or goggles that can see Stands?

Bcom seemed to want to sugest the endless frontier.

They don't even know what Stands are, so they wouldn't be able to make the goggles.

Though someone with a strong psychic power could theoretically see them.

Okay...summarized thoughts so far, although actual participation will be tomorrow.

@Sun I understand. GMing two rps sure as heck ain't easy.

@Kat Sounds okay. If there's anything particularly notable about Gensokyo that wasn't already covered by our rp, I'd want to hear it out.

@Faust Curious about Neo Seattle, although I'm in the camp that isn't super invested in Arc's personal narrative. Still, nice to see you're willing to play stuff for the people who might want to do something else. A detailed summary of the place in full, I might just throw my vote there.

@Trip Before or after Made In Heaven occurred? Remember, that chopped the JJBA continuity in half. And when I played a stand user in WAOAA (who's apparently returning there too), I personally went with this as a general compromise; Someone of sufficient sensitivity to ghost activity would be able to at least sense the presence of a stand, and only people of extreme supernatural power, whether it be magical or psychic, be able to see a hazy vague silhouette of them. Like specters. Cause well duh.

@Bcom Before, during, or after the main conflict?

...Also, it feels like the left side of my face has been fused with a brick, and this school's keyboards are awfully sticky and hard to type with. evil grin

Well, I've been playing up to a trip to Neo Seattle but Arc's actual plot would probably be just a few hour's worth of extra stuff she does by herself. I was thinking that I'd make something else a far bigger plot. It IS a cyberpunk world and there ARE Megacorporations...As long as most of the characters are sympathetic to people's plight, saving a city may be in the books.

I'll see what I did with the info on Neo Seattle and post it at the least.

@ Raidou : I have no ulterior motives (shocker, I know) and nothing to hide from you guys. It's just a world inhabited by gratuitous amounts of attractive women with fickle personalities.

[up] Man I didn't even think of that till you brought it up, thanks a lot.

@Trip: I went with Rai's explanation. Also, I think that if you develop Hamon to a fine enough degree, you should get a Stand, right?

@Faus Gracias.

@Neon Don't blame me, blame the other users. tongue

@Bass Oh, kewlio.

Is it the kind of gensokyo with the "haha we eat hyoomans" yokai mentality, or one where they're chill about it?

@Trip He did want a world built in Dio's Image, so yeah

@Josh Takes many years to do it, but yeah that's one way.

@Rai: Thanks. If you're a guy in DIO's world, will you sound like Hikaru Midorikawa, Takehito Koyasu, Isshin Chiba, or Norio Wakamoto? DIO had those voice actors, right?

@ Raidou : My take on it has been that humans that are strong enough get respect and only idiots would try to eat them (hence, why Reimu and Marisa can tango with the big mean youkai of the wild), so the group's safety is guaranteed. They'll all be protected by the spell card system anyways, so all combat becomes strictly non lethal no matter how hard the participants actually try to kill each other.

Background for you all! This isstufIsent to Blu Beri Pi for reasons so ifsomething seems conversational that's why. Minor edits may occur when I finally tack down the details so be advised Added notes are in italics

Neo Seattle

So, Arc comes from a future timeline Seattle, in 2112, where the USA is actually now divided into city-states, roughly bordered based off of geography. Regardless of the split of the USA, each state is fairly courteous to the others. Seattle has undergone a change as it's been newly renovated in order to modernize, but it's strongly cyberpunk; neon sign everywhere, gadget-wearing technoheads wandering to and fro, monorails through the heart of downtown (they FINALLY finished it!), and an ever-present cloud hanging overhead. Despite looking like Blade Runner, the city is, in fact, prospering. Increased trade with Japan has brought a unique mix of culture and people into the city, and there is a definite shift in such. The geography and neighborhoods are roughly the same; you can still find yourself on Capitol Hill and expect it to be the counterculture district (albeit, probably a more "Summer of Love" hippie thing as opposed to the tech-obsessed rest of the city), or in Pike Place Market and see guys throwing fish just like today. There are two major differences to our regular Seattle, though;

The emergence of superpowered humans

A concept I admit is blatantly ripped lovingly taken from The Uncanny X Men (with manifestations more akin to the "Contractors" of Darker Than Black), specific changes in the gene pool have led to humans who have extraordinary powers, Arc amongst them. Where they come from, nobody knows. Rumors range from extraterrestrial activities to government supersoldier programs to divine intervention. Whatever the ultimate cause, it's in a stage where rumor of these people is slowly becoming fact. Choppy footage, badly-lit pictures, websites, Late-night TV stories, more and more information that these people are out there. Conspiracy and the government shutting down any major stories abound. Realistically, the only reason Arc is so awesome at controlling her powers is due to her travels; she never needed to hide them as they are more the norm in other universes. She did, however, discover them in Neo Seattle.

Realistically, this is just to explain why Arc has electrokinesis. It is HIGHLY unlikely that we'd run into supers unless you all want it to happen

Technologistics

Neo Seattle is cyberpunk, but leans towards the Post Cyberpunk side of things, as the renovation of the city helped establish order in the midst of chaos. Many advancements have been made in teh name of macroscience, and studies and designs have turned to microscience-Body modification, implants, etc. For example, Arc herself can drink just about anyone under the table due to an improved biomechanical liver she has. Arc's Cool Shades are actually a direct result of the new direction of personal engineering, as they are highly advanced. Reading life signs, scanning the crowd for threats, and other useful things, her glasses area HUD and info center (provided she has an internet hook up) powerhouse. However, the really freaky stuff comes with the modders. They're the guys who have implants that are visible, extreme body mod enthusiasts, ranging from simple things like ocular implants (think Riddick) to the guys who have full-on joint replacements (think Automail). It's more common than one would think, but there is still a portion of the population who finds it...weird, to say the least, ranging from the mildly disapproving to those who'd lynch anyone they knew had a fake kidney. Seeing as this is a small portion of the population it's really not an issue. One other thing that is of note is that the humans have found ways to travel the multiverse. Known as "Shunting" (as in "shunt from one 'verse to another"), it is a well-known but little-understood technology. Arc's literal power allowed her to access and obtain a Shunt Jacket and leave her version of Earth (truth to be told, I have no idea how or where she got it yet). In any case, a spaceship full of otherworldly beings landing and hanging out won't be noticed...

Tech Junkies

This section was provided for fluff reasons, and to set what sort of stuff you get in Neo Seattle. It's pretty standard fare, but I think it helps set the tone for the "cyber" aspects of the setting

These guys can range all over the place; From the mildly obsessed geeks to the full-blown cyborgs with enhanced limbs and implants. Tech Junkie is a catchall term, much like how "Queer" is a large umbrella term for anyone who isn't totally straight, even if the person leaves it undefined...granted, that's not an in-universe term. Oh, and there is not such thing as Cybernetics Eat Your Soul, 'cause that's dumb in Neo Seattle (note-not an official term either!). Ah, why the hell not? There are people who merely keep up with the new models of legs and arms, or perhaps someone who has replaced their eyes for the sake of an advantage. The really devoted guys have decided that Freaky Is Cool and have full-out body replacements because they can. Now, note that it's a culture, but it isn't a group like how you might classify high school, but it is more of an overarching subculture/interest/etc that you can find in most areas. It's more prevalent in the cities, but you could probably find that one kid in Hicksville who's destined to become a Tech designer or such. Note that merely having tech does not make you a Junkie; they have real-world applications, replacing limbs or fixing problems-Arc's liver and lungs are a result of accidents ''(or something bt it's not relevant at this point')' that needed replacing, but Arc isn't obsessed with tech, just has it. Basically, if one has an interest in it as a hobby or gone so far as to fetishize it, Junkie.

There are also a few different companies that manufacture tech.

Again, this fleshes stuff out. ATLAS and Syn-Tech are definitely in, but Cybercore is...Well, it may need some changes. The former two will probably show up in the plot.

ATLAS

ATLAS specializes in rough and ready limbs, industrial appendages suited for heavy labor. The limbs have a simple, geometrical aesthetic that isn't ugly but is down to earth.

Syn Tech Industries

Syn Tech focuses primarily on replacement limbs for daily use. Their futuristic designs are more rounded and sleek than those of ATLAS, but usually lack the Swiss Army Limb versatility, due to being a more day-to-day appendage. It's basically the Apple Corp of Neo Seattle to ATLAS' Microsoft

Cybercore Technical Logistics

Cybercore is cutting-edge in that it focuses not on artificial limbs and organs but instead on a more modded human; These guys can give you an uplink to the internet or replace your nervous system for a faster one...for a price. Their main focus is on user-based electronic interaction; anything from being able to watch the newest episodes of the new sitcom on your eyelids to becoming an Uberhacker because you can (literally) "see the code".

Note that if you are going somewhere in Neo Seattle, use current-Seattle places and locations. I am mainly thinking of having people stick around the downtown, Capitol Hill (Broadway), and Seattle Center districts. These three are in walking distance (kind of...I like walking, OK?), so they are convenient and easy to get to. More locations can be traveled to, say, Redmond (Home of Microsoft) for instance, but I know those three areas VERY well, so stuff will center around there. Real locations, and current shops, restaurants, and such will be used by me and I will provide images and locations for each. Pay attention to what places Imention and what you know is in Seattle now and feel free to use it as you will.
