I should get this game at some point.

I beat Meat Boy 100%, though.

By the way, how does saving work on the Xbox version of Super Meat Boy? I don't want to lose any bandages I obtained.

Holy Carp, this game is awesome! That said, I have apparently lost all the (miniscule) experience I've had with "break your head against the wall"-style jump-n-runners I've gained through repeat deaths in IWBTG, sadly. It's still awesome, though.

Thou shalt not invoke the The Lord Magikarp's name in vain.

Also, trying to play Super Meat Boy like IWBTG is bound to get you killed, very badly.

Played this about a week ago, my friend and I managed to clear World 2 with 100% thus far (Light and Dark for both worlds). We'll probably tackle that and onward in between bouts of Sam And Max in the near future.

Also, in spite of lol PETA, I'm actually kind of impressed their parody game managed to emulate the gameplay so well. Sure the controls were a teensy bit sketchy, but you realize this is something they probably threw together in a week or so.

After a few hours, I finally beat the Light World with 30 bandages. All I can do now is to collect the rest of the bandages and finish Cotton Alley and The Kid's stage (both which I see as unlikely).

By the way, what's the chance that PC characters will be updated to the Xbox version?

Sigh.

Dying in Super Meat Boy: "Arg, not again."

Dying in The Kid's Stages: Gradually goes from "Not again" to "Damn" to "This is freaking stupid."

None of the levels in Super Meat Boy (at least, the ones I've played, and I'm in the middle of Rapture) feel like the game is asking you to do something unfair.

But The Kid's levels....really? I know that's how they're supposed to be, but still.

EDIT: I just found out how Jill is supposed to work. I made her levels into a painful, painful challenge.

Yeah took me a while to get Jill's gimmick right. Wound up giving me a bout of carpal tunnel from mashing the button to stay afloat tongue

Dear Designer of Ogmo's third warp zone level:

I hate you.

There is one level element that pisses me off more than anything in the world. So much that I believe that any developer who uses it seriously in a game should have their head blown off with a shotgun. A straight pit with spikes on the sides, forcing you to fall without touching the walls. Couple this with momentum, and you have a VERY hard and annoying obstacle.

Also, I do love how you also show us that Ogmo's double jump should never be used to changed direction. Ever.

Not only does momentum screw with you, it's all but impossible to completely stop yourself horizontally in midair at all. You're usually better off just trying to fall fast to minimize the chances of slopping to the side.

I didn't find Ogmo's warp zone all that hard at all. The Kid aside, I had the most trouble with Flywrench.

This may have something to do with the fact that I'm using a controller instead of my keyboard.

I'm this close to going out and buying an X-Box controller. When I get back to the dorm, I'll probably just end up using my roommate's spare.

Also, Flywrench's wasn't that bad, in my opinion.

Beat the game yesterday, and as of today I've beaten all the Light World levels, save for some warp zones and Cotton Alley. Now I'm trying to A+ all the LW levels so I can get all the Dark World levels. I'm also picking up LW bandages along the way, up to 35 now.

I think tonight I'll try to get The Kid again. I've seen videos, if I can get past the first level, I'll be fine, and if I can get past the second, I'll be set.

EDIT: P.S. Gravity orbs are stupid.

[up][up][up] I already did off eBay, are you just trying to save money or do you have a problem with Xboxes? :P

Unfortunately, the LB button is broken on mine, It hasn't been a problem so far but it's still annoying. I could have returned it but I only had 7 days to and I was busy......the seller had 99% approval. :(

I just looked at the full unlockable character list.

Why must the 360 version have the better characters? I mean, Gish? The guy from Spelunky? Tim?

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.

I was thinking of getting the Steam version (even after doing almost everything in the XBLA version), but apparently it lags and has unpredictable controls. I don't think this is true in the XBLA version, but I was wondering if it actually applies to the Steam version.

The only problem I've had with the Steam version is the game would occasionally crash before getting to the main menu. It never crashed during gameplay, though, so no biggie.

I've never had any problems with lag or glitches in the Steam version, either.
