There used to be a video of someone doing the sequence in Azula's flashback, where they found out she was a prodigy.

Is it bad that I imagined bursts of fire for the above video? You can SEE where the fire should be coming out of his fucking hands.

You can?

Cause...cause I can do that. It's the most recent form I learned.

I ARE FIREBENDER.

Thread Hop: just watching the movie now. It's not the best, but it's fairly faithful. The battle of the northern water city is very well done.

I'm still confused by why they changed firebenders from shooting fire from out of nowhere to needing an actual source of fire...all the other flaws atleast have SOME explanation...

  • Race Lift = Hollywood
  • Terrible Acting = Bad actors* and director
  • Rushed story = it's an entire season shrunk down to such a small amount of time
  • Missing characters = this applies to nearly all adaptations, and also because of the lack of time
  • Fire bending suddenly requiring fire = ??????????

On the bright side...the special effects were kinda nice though.

But it's technically one of the weaker elements of the four, and least versatile as well. The only thing it had going for it was an obvious function and can be used anytime anywhere.

Don't ask me to decipher Shyamalan's logic.

That begs the question that he is capable of logic.

I found the film is a lot more enjoyable because I watched a pirate Cantonese dub with English subtitles*

.

It grave it the feel of a classic Wuxia Kung Fu flick You can overlook the terrible acting and dialogue and and enjoy the pretty visual effects and actually surprisingly good music score.

There weren't enough visuals to make up for it for me though.

When I said the special effects were nice, I was mostly talking about the water and ice. So it was mostly at the very end that the movie became slightly more entertaining...

Still the soundtracks was of very high quality, I actually liked it so much I uploaded it to my iPod*

Just wondering did they ever explain why the fire nation could create fire in the cartoon show? Not of the other benders could.

I think fire benders used the heat around them to create fire to the best of my knowledge.

I don't know if this have been asked yet but will there be a sequel to this piece of crap?

Place your past in a book burn the pages let them cook.

I don't remember if they even explained how benders could control elements to begin with...

As for producing their own fire, I always thought it felt natural to create them out of nowhere. There's already oxygen in the air. Or instead of fire, they just manipulated the heat around them, hence why fire always came out of their bodies somehow.

And "technically" water benders could produce their own water, sweat, blood, etc. And if they don't use those, they could also use the moisture in the air to create a bit of water.

Bending has to do with ki, and if I recall correctly, Firebending has something to do with life energy a.k.a. one's own body heat, or at least that's the impression I got when Aang and Zuko met the sun people.

[up][up]And all people can create they own 'dirt'

I hate to say it but the movie was more consistent than the cartoon with the fire blenders. They had to work with what was with around them like all the other nations.

Actually, the cartoon was incredibly consistent. Just in a different way. It never deviated in the way it showed any of the elements, and each one was shown to have it's own styles and stuff.

They use internal heat. It's already been stated.

Much like Katara's bloodbending.

I wonder if it's possible for Toph to bend iron...inside a person's body?

But I still think they just bend their own body heat, hence fire always come from their mouths or fists...that and balance. Since fire seems to be the weakest element if it were not so easily acquired.

Yes but the show explicitly says that only master blenders are capable of that. In the TV show all fire benders are capable of it. We should probably just do what signed said and chalk it up to Game Balance as fire is obviously going to occur naturally less often then water or earth.
