Or how about when you're fighting a Plesioth underwater, 2/3 carts, one hit away from failing the quest, with less than 5 minutes left, and the Plesioth charges at you?

And then, just before it hits you, your element discharge blows up in its face and kills it.

got myself some khezu armor. and rathian gunner armor.

and ive nearly finished all 4 star quests, only got one double monster quest left, the one with the two scylla. just need to decide the weapon to take...

seltaz queen was a fun fight. does she spawn seltas to help her infinitely? cuz i killed 2 and got attacked by one more after i killed her.

...its nice to finally have a bow that can use the power coating.

so anyway

zinogre or rathalos, only ones left right now. which to do first...? i'll probably be doing archery for the rathalos, but i dunno what to fight the zinogre with.

Both seltas queen and desert seltas queen can spawn their respective seltas infinitely given the chance (and they can also eat them).

As far as zinogre goes, I'd personally suggest glaive, c.blade, sns, duals, or any gunner weapon if you're good with one.

The first time I beat a Zinogre, I was using a lance. Being able to block its attacks is very, very helpful when you're getting used to fighting it, so I'd recommend giving that a try.

On another topic, I found out that I'm actually not half bad with a bow, as long as whatever I'm fighting is big enough. Also I just finished a set of Blue Kut-Ku gunner armor, which is awesome and makes me look kinda like a ninja. Now I've got two high-rank gunner sets. Since I don't go gunner all that much, that should be enough for a while.

And yes, Cathar has really pretty music.

Finally bothered to beat White Fatalis. It was fun, loved fighting him.

literally curves to hit me when i dodge out of the way.

aaand i lost the fight after it started limping when it tilted the summit area until i had to press r, at which point it hit me 3 times in a row until i died.

total dickbag.

Rathalos can be a huge pain in the ass, yes.

i once killed a rathalos with a giant marlin

it was a good quest; shenanigans everywhere.

So Apex Rajangs can show up randomly in G-rank Elder Hall quests. That was an escalating series of "oh shit oh shit" moments, starting with the Rajang showing up, progressing to Dung Bombs not working on it, and finally when it actually went Apex.

Fun times.

i once had an apex rajang show up while first trying to hunt the desert seltas

The best approach to dealing with a randomly appearing apex rajang is always to choose one member of your team to be sacrificed so that they may meet the great ape in glorious combat.

Yeah, Dung Bombs won't make Rajang leave, even if you have skills that ensure it work. You can use them to escape from its pin attack though.

The only hope is to git gud or git rekt.

So then I suppose the solution would be to dung bomb the other monster?

That's probably best. worse comes to worse you can also just wait rajang out. Or, if you have someone really good on your team, you can send them to distract rajang.

I don't think sending someone to distract it actually works at all. As far as I know, which player a monster decides to attack is entirely random. Although getting -10 in Sense will make monsters more likely to attack you.
