That one does, but the alternate one is an alternate one for a reason. They don't both happen in the same timeline.

If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.

wild mass guessTime.

What do you suppose happen to people who don't ascend for three years, assuming that they avoided attack from the Shadows? I think there's some kind of "Groundhog Day" Loop in the purgatory so if you don't ascend in three years, it hits back, only perhaps with different NP Cs. Does this sound plausible to any of you?

I also just want to say I found myself EXTREMELY fascinated in Angel Beats' universe. There's just so much plot potential, perhaps even more than series like Haruhi Suzumiya and such. Unfortunately, as of now, there aren't that many good fanfics that expands upon the series...

Oh, and I just found out that it was cut down to 13 episodes thanks to Executive Meddling.

Now I'm pissed.

^ I heard it somewhere and that's what I suspected as well, but it hasn't actually been confirmed, tbh.

That being said, I still think that's what happened and I'm sticking to it.

And I say its bullshit.

People like to call "executive meddling" whenever a show they like doesn't run as long as they think it should, or any number of other things happen, and there is almost never any proof.

Why is Angel Beats only 1 cour? Well, because presumably thats all they could get funding for. Is "not ponying up funds for more than one cour" considered "executive meddling"? I'd have to say its not.

At no point during the entire runup to the show was there ever any indication that it was going to be more than a single cour in length. Now, it turns out that its sales were high enough that it almost certainly could have supported two cour, but they had no way of knowing that in advance, and obviously felt that the risks were not worth the possible payoff.

But if you want me to buy that there was somehow "executive meddling" to reduce its length (which almost never happens with anime thats less than 2 cour in length to begin with anyway), you are going to have to give me some evidence.

The translation of the manga is still ongoing.

The last two chapters have introduced Asami Iwasawa, the best musican of the after-live.

Lazy and pathetic.

Although if it was originally planned for a longer run that might explain why they skipped the opening/ending credits relatively often in favour of another minute of actual episode with the credits over it. They were trying to cram in as much as possible.

But I dunno.

Anyhow, this makes me a sad panda. So much potential....so little episodes...hell, I think if it were to be done real right, there should've been at least 30 episodes!

A lot of those names I don't recognize, but I think Hilary Haag as Yui and Luci Christian as Iwasawa are excellent choices.

Edit: Looking the names up, it seems Yuri shares her voice with Kiko, which I can definitely see.

Anyone knows anything about the VN adaptation and how it's going?

I said this for at least few dozens time in this site alone, but seriously, the series and the verse had so much potential. Really, I think the series should had at least 30 episodes or something, and why did they have to be Cut Short? It seemed to be pretty popular.

Overall it was a series that had a nice concept but just failed in execution, so all that was left was a very nice intro.

So true. Seriously, I was once so obssessed with the series that I momentarily made it my goal to become a Promoted Fanboy and pick the series up and expand it.

That's what everyone says about AB! Wasted potential due to lack of episodes.
