Sad to learn the Rhapsody sequels won't have dubbed songs. Reading along to subtitles just doesn't connect as well to the sillyness when you can't understand the lyrics as you hear them.

I can get d2, but why on earth was 3 still not ported (or able to be ported)? didn't it get a part to the PSP?

Disgaea 3 got ported to the Vita so there really isn't any reason to not port the Vita version to at least the Switch. The Vita version shouldn't have the problem that DD 2 would have about being on the Playstation 3 and its cell engine. Only reason I can think of is that they would need to update the sprites but looking at D5 it doesn't seem like that would be that big of a hindrance.

Thinking about it a bit more maybe it is because of the whole Vic voicing Mao thing that is the problem.

As someone who was largely stuck on the PS 2 games until recently, what is this Vic/Mao issue?

Mao's English voice actor, Vic Mignogna, is a sex pest.

That said, I highly, highly doubt that would even begin to be a factor in the decision-making on the Japanese side of things. Didn't he also voice someone in 4, anyway?

I think Disgaea 3 is widely considered the worst entry in the franchise, isn't it? There may not have been much of a push to get ported.

And yeah Vic Mignogna had some sex offender stuff going on a few years back. iirc it wasn't like awful stuff (like hitting on fourteen year olds or drugging people) but still creepy and unwanted.

He got outed as a sex creep and had assaulted some other VA's as well as general creepy leery behavior that even conventions needed added watch for from him. That and his weird as hell religious sermon stuff. Basically Louis CK or Chris Savino stuff.

I'd say "It can't be any worse than Disgaea 6," but this timeline would probably take it as a challenge.

From what I've heard and the bit of the demo that I've played it is better than 6.

It is unfortanete that 6 ended up running out of development time.

The trailer for Disgaea 7's demo is out and the brought back Invasion from within by Tsunami bomb for this trailer.

Demo already feels better than 6.

On a side note, my inner snarker wants to make fun of Xenolith as That One Boss (his evility has work arounds, namely throwing and mages).

Hospital has been reworked. You pull gacha drops to complete sets of treasures. Completing a set rewards a specific prize. Low tier is an Imperial Seal guaranteed to be at least Rare. Your first set reward will always be legendary.

Each pull on low tier costs 10 recovery points. Not a bad source of HL in early game.

Hell Mode is a throw back to overload skills.

Orbs and muscles are now bought at the general store.

Specials are more expensive in SP cost and upgrade cost in general.

Let's hope they made them actually scale properly to make up for it.

Based on the list of characters in the DLC? The only Disgaea characters left are the lesser main characters (or less popular characters) from their games... and Asagi, so it's possible she (or one of her clones) could be hiding in post-game.

Gotta say, gaacha system breaks the early game. The mid tier pulls are above rank 10.

Warning: Sugar and Spice are a Wake-Up Call Boss.

Not so much their class, so much as their evility that they both share.

50% damage boost against demons is the most brutal and consistent “favored enemy” evility in the series.

If you don’t bring Cee Four with you, you are in a world of hurt.

So I've been wanting to progress into the Lavish Hall in the first game, but so far, I only had my butt kicked throughout. Any tips on how I can progress through?

Are you in Lavish Hall or the stage before it?

When in doubt, grind levels in the item world.

Also, use ranged attacks. The Wall of Meat can't move and trying to surround Higgmeiser will just lead to him using one of his strongest moves on you.
