2-1 is probably the earliest level for grinding. Move around and smash the Geo blocks as necessary to tweak the stats in your favour, then smash them in the same turn as you kill the last guy to get a full bonus gauge.
Alternatively, 4-3 is a a nice early grinding level. It's a combo warp-cloning panel, so you'll have a near infinite number of enemies to whittle down over time.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Later on, a good money spot is 6-4.
Your definitive weapon and special grinding spot is 10-1.
In a pinch you can use 10-4 for exp grinding.
That might be a glitch. The DS version was a very bad port.

Just got home from a week-long holiday to the news of Disgaea coming to PC.
Having already played DG:HoD I'm not all that thrilled, but if good sales could encourage them to release Disgaea D2 on PC...
Edit: Wait, I thought clones didn't give any XP? At least it sure looked so in HoD's Nintendo DS port...

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I have a faint hope that they'll try 5 as well. I figure that releasing the first installment on a new system might snag all the people who want it, but haven't been able to upgrade yet.
Plus, you know, it's the most well-known out of the series.
Anyone know what the original artwork of my avatar is? I found it as an avatar by google, although that one was mis-colored which I tried to correct.
A teaser popped up around four days ago.
Cladun III, maybe?

Disgaea is preloaded on my PC, ready for the release tomorrow.
Mandatory Happiness, Night Alone, and a freaking Touhou fangame coming west via NISA.
Edit: htol#NiQ and a Criminal Girls game getting PC ports, too.

Too bad it's not one of the actually good ones.
So Disgaea PC is out, and reports are mixed.
Some people are running it perfectly, others are having a poor to terrible time of it.

I'm underwhelmed. It runs really slowly. Animation is jerky. And there's no way to skip or speed up dialogue.
I gave it a whirl, but when the game refused to draw items in order, it was just too much. It's a bad port. I've requested a refund.

It's almost as if Japan has different copyright laws, and that sometimes there are unexpected hangups.
Anyway, a patch is supposedly incoming, and unsubscribing from Steam BETA works for some people.

{nods} I suppose it might get better in the future, but I'm in the crowd that feels that paying $20 to beta-test a game is not right. I have heard good things about being able to use the mouse exclusively. I'll admit that I couldn't even get far enough into the game to consider it.
By the by, I got a notice when I asked for a refund saying that I was outside the range for refunds since I "bought" it way back when it was pre-order, but it went through just fine that night.
Worldwide copyright laws are actually pretty similar for most countries. The inidividual legal systems and standard contracting practice differs wildly, however. In this case, Japan tends to have music/voice contracts that look rather absurd to people in the West, as there are often restrictions preventing stuff from leaving the country at all. There was likely such a clause present in the musician's contract here, but with an exception for the music when included in the game itself.
I heard it may run better if you opt out of the Steam beta. Also, the counter is only supposed to start on the game's release.
Loving being able to increase equipment mastery via chara world (focusing mainly on armor mastery).
Adding some experience to show how the mastery system is so much more manageable than before to relieve some people's concerns about it's return since D2.
Raised Flonne's armor mastery to A rank. Set mastery gain rate (via the cheat shop) to 850%. Went to my usual mastery spot of 10-1 and only killed via counter attacks. Did not have any Instructors (a new innocent that is the mastery equivilent of statistician. Flonne's armor mastery level from from 19 to 43 in a single run. The run took about 5-10 minutes.

So, I've made my way to 8-1 of Disgaea PC...
Is there a way to cheap the level out, or am I just going to have to grind?
I don't remember which one that is. Googling Disgaea 8-1 brings up something about a map with those demons that I think have 150% defense and res plus 3x enemy boost. Is it a 3x3 galactic demons map with those boosts?
Well, there's two things I can think of. One, you make a unit tower to get to the 3x boost geopanel and throw it away somewhere. I think you're going to need to do that with their high defenses. Two, either bait them away from where they're standing or toss a unit that can still move near them and attack them there then run out of their range.
And of course you can just pick them off the strong spots and then gang up on them near your base panel, but that might require you to trade units. Which would still probably get them to move at least. So three things, I guess.

I legitimately didn't think that I could in the first game, since I couldn't really manage it when I tried.
Thanks!
What are some good ways to grind for HL and levels early in D5? (By early I mean I just got access to the Item World.)
