Sophia could have been good in other circumstances, just like Gwendolyn. Matthis doesn't have that.

I recall reading a poll somewhere that declared Wendy the worst unit in the entire series, but I can't recall where.

Well, you can send Jill through the Heel–Face Revolving Door in one chapter.

And not quite Fire Emblem, but I think Tear Ring Saga has a party member who becomes an enemy.

So I'm currently playing Awakening (on the absolute easiest difficulty first because it's my first game but I plan to do another playthrough on harder difficulty next before going onto another game). Is there any actual consensus on what DLC is and is not worth it?

[up]Not really, but generally the only people against the DLC have a vendetta against DLC in general.

imo It's all worth it, in any case. You get a ton of quests for ~50 bucks, a lot of which give you some really sweet rewards and interesting dialogue (and bits of story too!)

all of his level ups, at minimum, have at LEAST three stat gains

this man has no bad stats last i checked

he hits people that have a weapon advantage over him with perfect accuracy and can double attack pegasus knights armed with slim lances with a steel blade

Birthrights Lunatic!

Ch.23 - 24

Camilla's Dragon Vein is not too bad, since if you put most of your units in the back she will keep hitting them while ignoring Ryoma, and they don't care much about having 1 HP since they easily overwhelm enemies on Player Phase.

That Speedwing I gave Silas was kind of a waste since he'll be Ryoma's backpack from now on. Ryoma has been absolutely necessary because of how many reinforcements their are.

Reclassed Alexa into Swordmaster. Despite that, Lilith was still skeptical about my ability to dodge an axe.

I am not sure if it is a consensus or not, but the only ones I personally plan to buy are the Scramble Pack and the Future Pack. The first for in-character conversation between all your units, which I like, and the other for a look into the future timeline.

The other DLC are mostly just extra maps with cameos from previous games. Didn't interest me at all. The exceptions are the 3 grinding maps, that feels kinda pointless. The game is already easy enough and you have free opportunity to grind anyway. Just by taking most skirmish opportunities I already have pretty much every character on level on part with the most recent chapter and I don't lack money nor gear (I am playing on hard, btw). Frankly, they seem like waste of money.

Actually, they're divided like this:

The Einherjar Saga: Basically your army teams up with a group of units from past games to battle against another group of units from past games; these chapters are divided into three missions with the same map and unit theme, with the third and final map being essentially a grand slam against everyone involved. four of these maps contain items that teach your units a DLC-exclusive skill and two offer a DLC class, with one being exclusive to males and another being exclusive to females. Besides that, they kind of follow it's own storyline with the map offering the Limit Breaker skill (which increases stat caps by 10 points) being the implied end of the story. They also contain humorous dialogue as well as interactions between your army and the Einherjar themselves. Many of the Einherjar that you get (AKA the units from past games) may have different skill loadouts than the free Einherjar. It's recommended to at least take Champions of Yore 3 (Gets you the All Stats +2 Skill every time you clear it which is situationally useful for certain builds), Lost Bloodlines 2 and 3 (the former gets you an item that transforms a male unit into Dread Fighter each time you clear it, the latter gets you Paragon each time you clear it, which doubles EXP gained + due to how EXP works, it becomes the best grinding map in the entire game), Smash Brethren 2 (repeatedly winning this map gets you an item which transforms a female unit into Bride each time you clear it), and Rogues and Redeemers 3 (which gets you said Limit Breaker every time you clear it). Consider getting Champions of Yore 2 as well: It's probably the best map for grinding supports.

The Grinding Maps: Essentially for convenience. You get money faster, a map that can work for babying units up to par, and a map that not only contains otherwise extremely limited legendary weapons, but also provides good challenge for your buck AND the Silver Card which halves prices in shops. Also, very hilarious dialogue. The Golden Gaffe and Infinite Regalia are the standouts of these maps.

The Scramble Maps: Basically an excuse to get conversations between units who didn't get them in the main game... at least the latter two. The former is moreso expanding on interactions between characters who can interact with one another in the main game.

The Future Past: A series of challenging maps centered on Awakening's children characters and featuring a slightly more difficult Grima. Also has unique interactions between the child (well, another version of the child unit: it's not your child unit) and the unit who fathered that child for that playthrough.

Challenge Maps: Three maps that provide your grinded-to-max-stats-or-close-to-it postgame army with some stuff to do. Also gets you Einherjars, these based on the original Pegasus Trio.

Apotheosis: The hardest postgame challenge map. Featuring enemies with Lunatic+ skills and broken stat caps, there's an easier and harder version of this map: Beating the easier version nets you an Einherjar based on Katarina who comes packed with skills that can make the harder version of the map easier.

[up]Thanks. I wasn't aware of the fine details.

My opinion on them didn't change, though. Future and Scranble pack seems interesting for the dialogue. The rest seems skipable.

Except:

Consider getting Champions of Yore 2 as well: It's probably the best map for grinding supports.

That picked my interest. Why is it so?

Yeah, after a lot of babying. He comes in under-leveled, which is very unfortunate for him because two of the Pegs exist for a while before him and a pre-promo Wyvern with decent enough stats comes in for free later on. Unless you really like the guy, you're probably better off benching him.
