I played it once. I wasn't impressed. I was hoping for some interesting roleplaying, but I probably got screwed by the lag which really f*cked up those few times I got into a fight.
Maybe I should try it again some time.
I love the concept, but what I've seen of the execution turns me off.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableMaybe the tropers should activily hi-jack one of the servers? The concept is indeed just awesome, but it needs people actually capable of roleplaying to run it.

I just tried it, I love the concept but one guy playing a little girl took all the medicines and then started killing people.
And it was Death Note mode. I think I'll try again later.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Sounds fun, I might check it out.
I get addicted to it for a while, then lose interest, get addicted, lose interest...actually, I'm like that for a lot of things. I might have to get back into it again. It's fun playing a manipulative yandere or Psycho Lesbian, oh yes it is~ I'm Epi-sama over there, by the way.
mmmmmmm noIf they gave it more polish I'd be over it like a fly over a crack addict's feces. But as it is I don't think I'd play it more than a few minutes until the novelty of each mode wore off.
Hijack a server? Couldn't someone here just host one for a little while? I don't mean permanently, but since we'd have to organize and decide on a time anyways, might as well do it the right way. We'd just need someone with an awesome connection and such.
^Is that also possible? Well, I doubt I have the hardware to do something like that, but it sounds like a cool idea.
Where do servers come from? For every server that exists, there's somebody hosting that server, right? Unless the game actually has no button for creating a server of your own, which would be stupid (especially for a game where finding good opponents is important and there's a lot of idiots to avoid), it'd be no different than any other server, except it would be titled "TV Tropes only" and possibly (if it lets you) have a password. And probably be a bit more laggy, but that's the price you pay.
This sounds rather interesting, maybe I'll look into it over the weekend.
Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listInteresting, if a Tropers Server got online I would definitely participate.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Another regular mitadake-regular... just quickly saying, pretty sure there is no way to actually name a server, and I think the closest you can have to a password is restricting access to only your friends list... I mostly just play on one server on the weekends, but it would be interesting to have a TV Tropes only server....
Big wall o' text, ahoy!
"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."Note from a guy who plays this game:
FORKKIE'S SERVER IS THE ONLY GOOD SERVER
It might sound like bias, but that's the way it is. Other servers are filled to the brin with noobs and random attacks and other things like that.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.^Congratulations. By informing this forum of that server, you have caused a giant influx of noobs coming in!
Just joking.
I agree with the Forkkserver love.
"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."I noticed that Good Is Dumb can quasi-apply to good R Ping.
A bad R Per runs away and godmodes. A good R Per lets you hold the knife to their throat and cut.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.Forkkie's server is wonderful. Even the frustrating R Pers (as in psychopaths who lock you in a freezer then murder you...slowly) are very well executed thanks to her rules. Just frustrating that occasionally one or two people come in and decide to screw it about.
I also support a Tropers' server. It sounds...entertaining.
Wait, no. I'd now recommend Maltramac's server over Forkkie's server.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.Wait, what spurred the change?
"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."I like playing Sk8torchic's server, which uses Forkkie's simplified rules. Forkkie's is good too, especially for Nanaya mode.
I've been strongly considering checking out this game (the concept sounds AMAZING) but the thing is, I've researched it and I still have no idea how it's played. I know the rules and crap, but is it a text RP? If so, how is it kept under control? Or is it a point-and-click? Something else? Most importantly, is it fun?
It's.. kinda complicated. It is graphical, with players controlling a student each, running around the school, which is fully mapped out. It is VERY fun, though of course, Your Mileage May Vary.

"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."Say, ehhmmm, where/how do I find all these awesome servers people are talking about?
So, I found this game over the weekend after Thnikkafan mentioned it somewhere and it's... rather interesting. I just wish I could find a good game, one without the everpresent RKing and OOC Flame Wars.
Also, the lack of servers means that you're always going to have to watch a game that may or may not be going anywhere fast, and may, in fact, be a ordinary, no-kill school RP, at which point you're screwed if the 2 other servers are being griefed/ are hosted by people who prove the GIFT and disprove The Law of Fan Jackassery/ both of the above.
None of that means I'm not addicted.
