So, after watching the Nurarihyon no Mago O.V.As, I'm now wondering if a nurarihyon will appear in Gensokyo.

I'm kinda like Faw on avatars. I don't really pay attention to the name of who writes the posts, so if someone changes avatar I won't notice unless I specifically check. I also don't really care about most of them. I like Tom's, and Clarste's negative space isn't something to complain about. And mine's awesome.

I'm not a feminist. Most sexism in Touhou has probably to do with the lack of males.

Reading that wikipedia link, I for some reason kinda think Yukari is supposed to fulfill the role of a Nurarihyon...

If not, then that gourd head would probably be represented with a gourd-shaped hairdo. Or a Nice Hat.

On the subject of gender issues regarding Touhou, I think that having an all-female cast does a lot to de-sexualize them. Being female isn't unusual enough to be a character's main focus like in many more conventional works. Touhou can't have a "token girl" because all the characters are girls (though there is The One Guy in Rinnosuke). And since being female is the default state for a Touhou character, this forces fans to see them as more than just a potential sex-object.

Though I personally feel that being sexually attracted to someone and respecting them as a person are not mutually exclusive. In fact, I think having both is key to a healthy relationship (but this is coming from a 30-year-old virgin who's never actually had a full-on relationship, so take it with a grain of salt).

After much thinking, I've decided on 3.
